The Opportunity

We’re seeking an Engineering Team Lead to lead engineering efforts on our Embedded Analytics team. As an Engineering Team Lead, you will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and a product-driven mindset. You’ll lead a high-performing, cross-functional squad of Full Stack Application Engineers, Data Engineers, and QA Engineers to build, scale, and evolve the systems that power our customer-facing reporting and analytics features. This role bridges hands-on technical work, architectural leadership, and people development — ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, strategy, and team impact.

This role is a unique opportunity to guide the transformation of our embedded analytics into a new era of AI enabled business intelligence, providing high performing, trustworthy, and actionable reporting and analytics to our customers at a higher scale and speed than has been possible before.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional engineering and data team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and collaboration.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of your squad's product area — from early involvement in product discovery and design validation through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-ship monitoring. You will own the stack, working collaboratively with systems architects to design the most effective data and analytics platform.
  • Write code, review code, and architect solutions. You understand the codebase deeply enough to make informed tradeoffs and unblock your team.
  • Partner with the Product team as a collaborative equal — validating technical feasibility early, pushing back when scope is unrealistic, and advocating for quality and stability as first-class priorities alongside new features.
  • Balance feature work against bugs, tech debt, performance, and reliability. Work collaboratively with Product leadership to allocate engineering time towards the stability and high performance needs of our customers.
  • Drive architectural decision-making, balancing innovation, scalability, and delivery speed.
  • Promote engineering best practices, including clean architecture, testing, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Help the team break work down, manage flow, and ensure design, engineering, and QA operate in parallel rather than in sequential phases.
  • Champion high-quality code through design reviews, code reviews, and robust CI/CD pipelines (Docker, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes). Own the definition of "done" — tested, stable, monitored, and maintainable.
  • Coach engineers on career growth, system design, and effective collaboration. Because you work alongside your team daily, feedback is immediate, specific, and grounded in real work.
  • Drive AI and agentic coding tool adoption within your squad — leading by example, partnering with the Platform team on standards and guardrails, and helping your team understand how to use AI effectively while avoiding common pitfalls.
  • Build an inclusive and motivated team culture centered on transparency, ownership, and impact.
  • Collaborate with recruiting to attract and retain top engineering talent.
  • Establish performance goals, track key metrics, and ensure operational excellence in delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development and/or data engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or management capacity.
  • Deep understanding of SQL, data modeling, and analytics/reporting
  • Experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proven success leading technical teams and mentoring engineers of varied seniority levels.
  • Experience with or strong enthusiasm for AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic thinker who can connect engineering priorities to product and business outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

We know many women do not apply for a job if they don't perfectly fit the description. We want you to apply anyway.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Deep understanding of microservice architecture, RESTful API design, distributed systems, and modern frontend frameworks.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in one or more of our core technologies (Python, Java, Kotlin, TypeScript/React), with the ability and willingness to learn and work across the stack.
