  • Expeditor: $18.00 - $18.75/hr
  • Prep Cook 1 (Dishes and Sauce Prep): $18.50 - $19.50/hr
  • Prep Cook 2 (Fried Rice, Lo Mein and Vegetable Prep): $18.75 - $19.75/hr
  • Kitchen Lead: $20.50 - $23.50/hr

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Carver

Reports To: Assistant Manager / General Manager

Job Overview: As a Carver at Canton Rodeo, you play a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by preparing and plating food with speed, precision, and care. You ensure every order meets our standards for quality, presentation, and accuracy; whether served in-house or packed for takeout and delivery.

Compensation Range: $18.00 - $18.75/hr

Exceptional Guest Experience

  • Greet every guest and delivery partner in a sincere and genuine way
  • Build an emotional connection with every guest in a friendly, positive, and hospitable manner
  • Proactively circulate through the dining room to check on dine-in guests when needed
  • Operate each shift with Canton Rodeo’s core values in mind: Hospitality First, Excellence, Growth Mindset, Speed with Purpose, Clean and Proud and Fun!

Product Knowledge

  • Master the full menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary considerations
  • Execute precise portioning into proper containers to ensure consistency and quality
  • Package and seal all items to Canton Rodeo standards for presentation and transport
  • Maintain immaculate food preparation and carving stations
  • Be able to provide confident, knowledgeable guidance to guests

Knife Skills & Safety

  • Successfully complete Canton Rodeo’s Knife Safety Certification prior to handling knives
  • Properly wear a cut-resistant glove according to Canton Rodeo safety standards
  • Perform daily maintenance and sharpening of knives to ensure optimal performance
  • Carve protein portions accurately, safely, and efficiently to Canton Rodeo standards

Order and Food Preparation

  • Assemble menu items quickly while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation
  • Cut proteins (meats and tofu) to order with precision
  • Coordinate with kitchen and expeditor to ensure smooth service flow
  • Call for replenishment of menu items proactively
  • Assist in packing orders accurately for dine-in, takeout, and delivery
  • Serve soft-serve ice cream
  • Prepare and serve bubbler beverages
  • Fill soufflé cups with house made sauces
  • Complete food safety training and follow all safety procedures

Cleanliness & Organization

  • Maintain 100% adherence to uniform standards
  • Practice “Clean as You Go” across the service line
  • Clean and maintain workstations including:
    • Counter spaces
    • Induction tables
    • Carving station
    • Ice cream machine
    • Beverage equipment
    • Display windows
  • Restock supplies as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the restaurant
  • Conduct dining room and restroom checks
  • Support dishwashing and back-of-house by carrying back soiled pans, boards, knives and serving utensils
  • Follow all sanitation, safety, and chemical handling procedures

Team Collaboration

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with Front and Back of House teammates
  • Support coworkers during busy times (helping where needed!) to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain a team-first work environment by embracing Canton Rodeo’s Chain Reaction philosophy

  • POS experience (Toast preferred)

  • Passion for food and hospitality
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
  • Food Handler certification (per local requirements)

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Store Conditions

  • Hot and busy kitchen environment
  • Steam and heat from equipment
  • High levels of noise from cooking, communicating, music, and guests
  • Busy common areas

Physical Requirements

  • Standing for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Works efficiently in a fast-paced environment with hot and cold foods
