ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Databricks Developer to design, build, and optimize data and machine learning workflows on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. You will work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to enable scalable data processing, advanced analytics, and AI solutions. Expertise in Apache Spark, and the Databricks ecosystem is critical for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Databricks to ingest, process, and transform large-scale structured/unstructured data.
  • Optimize Spark jobs for performance (e.g., cluster tuning, partitioning, caching) and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize machine learning models using MLflow and automate ML pipelines. 
  • Design and deploy streaming solutions (e.g., Spark Structured Streaming) for real-time data processing. 
  • Manage Databricks workspace configurations, clusters, jobs, and security (IAM, access controls). 
  • Integrate Databricks with cloud services (Azure), data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift), and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI). 
  • Ensure data governance, quality, and compliance (e.g., data lineage, logging, monitoring). 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production workflows. 
  • Document architecture, processes, and best practices for the Databricks environment.  

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics with 2+ years focused on Databricks. 
  • Proficiency in Apache Spark (Scala/Spark SQL) 
  • Strong programming skills in Python or Scala; familiarity with SQL. 
  • Experience deploying and managing workflows in Databricks Workflows (or Jobs API). 
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) and their Databricks integrations (e.g., S3, ADLS). 
  • Familiarity with MLflow for model tracking, registry, and deployment. 
  • Understanding of data lakehouse architecture, ETL/ELT design, and data modeling. 
  • Ability to optimize big data workloads for performance and cost. 
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
