About the Role

We are seeking a Data Governance Consultant to lead the design and implementation of enterprise data governance framework. They will work across the business and technology team to define policies, establish data ownership and architect governance solutions that ensure availability, quality, security, and proper use of data across the organization.

Responsibilities 

  • Framework Design: Develop data governance strategies, frameworks, and operating models.
  • Policy & Standards Creation: Establish data management policies, data quality standards, and data usage guidelines.
  • Metadata & Lineage Management: Work on metadata catalogs and data lineage to improve visibility and traceability.
  • Data Stewardship: Define and support the roles of data stewards and data owners within business units.
  • Data Quality Oversight: Implement data quality management processes and help monitor data quality KPIs.
  • Tool Implementation: Evaluate and implement data governance tools like Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation, Ataccama, etc.
  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure data practices comply with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, or PIPEDA.
  • Change Management: Drive user adoption and build a data culture through training and communication.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between IT and business to ensure data governance aligns with business goals

Show Us What You’ve Got 

It will be very useful if you have some or all of the following skills and experience: 

  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
  • Familiarity with data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
  • Experience with metadata, master data, and data quality management.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS) is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with governance tools like Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation, Ataccama, Erwin, or Microsoft Purview.
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, master data management (MDM), data cataloging, lineage, and data quality frameworks.
  • Business analysis and problem-solving capabilities.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in regulated industries such as banking, Insurance
  • Knowledge of data mesh, data fabric, and data product thinking.
  • Exposure to Agile, DevOps, or DataOps methodologies.
