ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Data Platform Migration Business Analyst to oversee the transition of users from legacy data analytics platform to a new, modern data platform. This role requires a strong project and change management experience, particularly within financial services. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data analytics platforms, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of delivering complex migrations with minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the end-to-end migration of users from the old platform to the new data platform.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive user migration strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including IT, Data Governance, Risk, and Business Units to ensure a seamless transition.
- Minimize service disruption through effective planning, communication, and risk mitigation.
- Document and maintain risk logs, issue trackers, and progress reports throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Support the implementation of the Target Operating Model (TOM) in alignment with the new platform.
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards and best practices.
- Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders and project sponsors.
- Manage and mentor team members involved in the migration process.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in leading data platform or application migrations, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of data analytics platforms and data governance principles.
- Experience with Target Operating Model (TOM) implementation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, including risk and issue tracking.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience managing teams or individuals through change initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci).
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Experience with data visualization or BI tools is a plus.
