Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Alteryx Developer with strong expertise in data automation, SQL, Excel, and a deep understanding of the financial domain. This role involves leading the development of robust data workflows, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver impactful financial insights and reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of complex Alteryx workflows for financial data processing and reporting.
  • Architect and implement scalable data solutions integrating Alteryx with SQL databases and Excel-based models.
  • Collaborate with finance, risk, and compliance teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and documentation across all workflows.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting best practices in Alteryx development and data management.
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline financial reporting and reduce manual effort.
  • Manage workflow deployment, version control, and performance tuning in enterprise environments.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements through accurate data lineage and traceability.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Alteryx Designer & Server – Advanced workflow development, macros, analytic apps, and scheduling.
  • SQL – Strong command of query writing, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
  • Excel – Advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, and integration with Alteryx.
  • Data Warehousing Concepts – Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or Snowflake.
  • ETL Tools – Familiarity with other ETL platforms (e.g., Informatica, Talend) is a plus.
  • Version Control Systems – Experience using Git or similar tools for managing workflow versions.

Stakeholder Management Requirements:

  • Proven ability to engage with cross-functional stakeholders including finance, compliance, and business operations.
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Experience in gathering and refining requirements through workshops, interviews, and documentation.
  • Ability to manage expectations, prioritize tasks, and deliver solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Comfortable presenting data-driven insights and workflow designs to senior leadership.

Domain Expertise:

  • In-depth understanding of financial concepts such as budgeting, forecasting, P&L, balance sheets, and variance analysis.
  • Experience in financial services, banking, insurance, or corporate finance environments.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX, IFRS, GAAP).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in data analytics or financial data engineering.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Alteryx in a lead or senior developer role.
  • Alteryx Core and Advanced Certifications preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
