About the Job:

As a Principal Consultant on the Compliance Advisory team, you will work in a fast-paced team setting, alongside industry experts. You will become an expert in advising clients on consumer compliance, anti-financial crime, operations,  technical solutions and new business process changes. You will leverage your regulatory expertise, skill sets and consulting experience to better understand how to help advance our clients’ progress towards meeting their evolving needs.

What You’ll Get to Do: 

  • Provide end-to-end oversight for the delivery of a wide range of consumer compliance and anti-financial crime initiatives
  • Provide insights to clients as a subject-matter-expert on compliance, operational and information system issues
  • Present objective information, clearly and firmly, to client groups that may oppose some of your observations
  • Suggest enhancements to existing frameworks, approaches and solutions that effectively and efficiently address Capco-internal opportunities and challenges – such as those related to tools and client delivery
  • Develop and describe comprehensive, forward-thinking solutions to clients’ ad hoc issues
  • Synthesize regulatory changes and industry trends into clearly articulated and tailored advice
  • Produce high quality written reports suitable for clients’ boards of directors or sub-committees of the Board
  • Proactively engage with clients and Capco leadership in regularly scheduled strategy & planning discussions
  • Cultivate and manage a pipeline of work with clients
  • Act as a key leader to clients and colleagues
  • Lead and mentor others to grow in their careers
  • Promote Capco's service offerings to existing and new clients in specific geographies and disciplines

What You’ll Bring with You:

  • 8+ years of compliance / banking experience in banking and/or lending operations with a bank, credit union, mortgage company, FinTech, and/or regulatory agency
  • 4+ years of experience in a mid or high-level leadership role
  • Management experience is required
  • Consulting experience, or advising business area(s) within a financial institution, is required 
  • Compliance expertise in one or more of the following: closed- & open-end credit, loan servicing, residential & commercial flood insurance, deposit operations, loan & deposit account advertising, retail bank operations, anti-financial crime, collections and/or fair lending 
  • A thorough understanding of complex consumer compliance regulations including, but not limited to FCRA, FACTA, FDCPA, SCRA, GLBA, ECOA, Privacy, TILA, TISA, EFTA, CRA, RESPA, BSA/AML/OFAC, Fair Lending, FHA, Dodd-Frank, FDPA, and MLA
  • Demonstrated experience working with business and compliance stakeholders
  • Demonstrated project management / prioritization abilities
  • Ability to effectively manage team members to ensure the completion of project deliverables that exceed client expectations
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and manage multiple engagements at any given time
  • Awareness of potential project and/or client delays, and willingness to escalate such issues
  • Self-starter with strong desire to be part of and contribute to a growth story
  • Outstanding ability to analyze issues and communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written)
  • Advanced writing skills
  • Strong ability to work well in and lead teams composed of people with varying levels of expertise
  • Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from both leadership and peers
  • Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent career experience, required
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus, but not required
