Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Scrum Master to guide and empower a newly formed, highly technical team. This team, consisting of a GCP Data Engineers & GCP Platform Engineer, is tasked with building and managing a cutting-edge data platform on Google Cloud. As the Scrum Master, you will be the team's Agile champion, responsible for fostering a collaborative, transparent, and high-performing environment. Your primary goal is to ensure the team lives by the values and principles of Agile, effectively removing impediments and enabling them to deliver exceptional value.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a servant leader to the development team, which includes GCP Data Engineers & GCP Platform Engineers
• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and kept within the timebox
• Coach the team on Agile and Scrum principles, helping them to become self-organizing and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Identify, track, and help remove impediments or obstacles that are preventing the team from achieving its Sprint Goals.
• Protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions to maintain focus on their commitments.
• Work closely with the Product Owner to facilitate backlog refinement, ensuring that user stories are well-defined and ready for development.
• Foster a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, with an emphasis on problem-solving.
• Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution within the team.
• Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information to stakeholders.
• Support the team in tracking and understanding key Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown/burnup charts) to improve predictability and performance.

Required Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Scrum Master for a software development or technical team.
• In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks, particularly Scrum.
• First-level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I, or equivalent).
• Excellent skills in facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coach and mentor team members.
• A passion for servant leadership and a commitment to the team's success.
• Experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a cloud computing environment (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with the domains of data engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps.
• Advanced Scrum Master certification (A-CSM, PSM II) or other Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, Kanban).
• Experience in helping to establish Agile practices in a new or maturing team.
• Ability to understand the technical challenges of the team without needing to be a hands-on engineer.
