The Role
We are seeking an Actuarial Data Consultant to join our Insurance practice in New York. In this role, you will combine actuarial expertise with modern data and technology capabilities to help clients transform end-to-end actuarial processes. Working alongside data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, you will contribute to building scalable, data-driven solutions that enhance forecasting, modeling, and decision-making.
This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional actuarial work and play a key role in delivering innovative, technology-enabled solutions within a collaborative consulting environment.
What You’ll Do
- Apply actuarial knowledge to design and support structured data and ontological models for actuarial processes
- Collaborate with data specialists to translate actuarial workflows into scalable technical solutions
- Analyze insurance datasets to support modeling, forecasting, and process improvement
- Support data transformation, validation, and ingestion across actuarial systems
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align actuarial requirements with business and technical solutions
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in actuarial, data science, or analytical roles within insurance or financial services
- Progress toward actuarial credentials with at least 2 exams completed (e.g., P, FM, SRM)
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
- Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and modeling
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences
Bonus Points For
- Experience working with large-scale data transformation or data modeling initiatives
- Exposure to graph-based data models, ontologies, or knowledge graphs
- Familiarity with actuarial systems, processes, or regulatory frameworks
- Interest in applying actuarial expertise to modern data and AI-driven solutions
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments
