Job Role

 

  1. Data Risk Management • Analyse / clarify the Data (risk) requirements and associated Standards / policies • Ascertain the applicability of the data (risk) requirements in the context of the CIB business • Assess the impact of revisions to the Data Standards / Country Addenda in the context of CIB Business • Perform discovery of the current state processes, systems, operational and organisational landscape against the data (risk) requirements / Standards • Conduct gap analysis between current state against the data (risk) requirements / Standards and/or the target state • Impact assess the findings / gaps identified through gap analysis • Perform root cause analysis of identified risks / issues and identify impacted processes / teams to be engaged to resolve the issue(s) • Formulate the remediation approach / solution / Risk Treatment Plans (RTPs) to address gaps identified and reduce risk to Low / be within the business risk appetite • Where applicable, this includes identifying and proposing different options with the corresponding pros & cons and agreeing with relevant stakeholders which is the most suitable option in the current landscape in line with business objectives • Prioritise the data book of work in line with business objectives and risk profile • Deliver / execute the data remediations / RTPs to closure as per the committed completion timelines • Design, implementation and maintenance of data (risk) artefacts, controls and KCIs • Conduct control testing at the agreed frequency, report exceptions and ensure exceptions are addressed in a timely manner • Coordinate Data Risk Controls and Self-Assessment (RCSA) / Residual Risk Assessments (RRAs) • Drive the end to end management of data risks / issues / challenges • Update / maintain the relevant systems e.g. M7 etc. to reflect the data landscape/setup • Support Business/relevant stakeholders in conducting data impact assessment • Facilitate and/or drive the design, roll-out and maintenance / enhancement of data enablers • Advise and/or support data (risk) related audits, investigations and exams • Coordination of reviews and signoffs with relevant stakeholders across 1st, 2nd and 3rd line of defence as required. This includes but is not limited to Process Owners, Process Owners, Product Owners, Process Risk Framework Owners, Data Risk Framework Owners, Operational Risk, Audit, CFCR and more at the Group and/or country level. • Support and/or execution of change management activities such as develop training and communication materials / guidance / desktop operating instructions, conduct of training / workshops, and more. • Design and setup of metrics e.g. Key Performance Indicators, Objectives and Key Results to facilitate management reporting and tracking of book of work

• Provide management updates on the data book of work, including but not limited to the progress against the milestones as well as any risks / issues/ challenges encountered. • Participate in / lead governance forums, working groups, workshops and meetings in relation to data (risk) management Note: The above scope includes all 5 data risks specifically Data Quality (DQ), Data Sovereignty (DS),Record Keeping (RK), Privacy (PY) and Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI).

  1. Data Quality Issue Management and Resolution (DQ IMR) • Design/enhance and implement the DQ IMR mechanism / process to enable the end-to-end management of data quality issues linked to CIB. The end to end management of DQ issues include but is not limited to the logging of identified issues into a backlog, performing root cause analysis and prioritisation assessment, developing remediation approach and working with relevant stakeholders to resolve the issue. • Employ relevant training and communication measures to drive the adoption of the above mentioned DQ IMR mechanism / process across CIB • Maintain the DQ IMR mechanism / process and manage / clear the associated backlog on an ongoing basis • Perform root cause analysis of the issues logged in the DQ IMR Backlog and identify the relevant stakeholders to engage and take the issue forward. • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders / teams e.g. Finance, Risk, other businesses to analyse, impact assess, design solution and drive the issue to closure / resolution in a timely and structured manner

  2. Data Solutions / Management • Support CIB CDO in formulating the CIB business data strategy and architecture. This covers aspects such as definition of the data models, development of the data sourcing strategy, and ensuring that data is managed in line with data quality standards/principles. • Support deep technical data investigations including understanding the full business data lineage from source system to downstream consumption. • Identify, define, own and deliver data products for CIB in line with Group Data Product framework and aligned to CIB Data Models. • Participate in key transformation projects to ensure they are designed and implemented in alignment to CIB data principles, standards and architecture • Establish a data advisory/ consultancy framework to support product owners/ technology teams in their change work for Group projects and Change initiatives. This include well planned education / communication strategy on key data architecture foundation such as data models , strategy and principles. This role will initially focus on Data Quality (DQ) management and/or Data Quality Issue Management and Resolution (DQIMR).

 

Specific skills/experience/attributes: • Experience working in or consulting for Financial Institutions is critical. Knowledge of Corporate & Institutional Banking is strongly preferred. • Experience with understanding and mapping a complex business process to determine how specific regulatory obligations & policy requirements impact a process and the respective controls/elements in those processes. • Experience with designing solutions to meet policy and regulatory requirements for existing processes, in collaboration with technology. • Able to prioritise work, manage stress, time, and change effectively • Prior experience working in Agile Scrum team will be advantageous • Technical knowledge of data laws and regulations in EU, UK and US e.g. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), BCBS239, SEC / CFTC regulations etc. • Experience working with business, operations, compliance and technology stakeholders across varying levels of seniority • Good problem solving / analytical skills • Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and work with minimal management oversight • Strong communication skills – oral, written and presentation. Ability to craft meaningful yet succinct PowerPoint presentations and reports / proposals is a must. • High level of attention to detail with the ability to identify areas of focus for solution design and implementation • Ability to create effective work relationships across functions & borders • Good presentation, time management, negotiation and influencing skills • Any other relevant project management certification(s).
