Job Description

As a Senior SDET on the PBRC team, you will:

1. Own test automation across API and UI layers • Design, build, and maintain automation test suites using: o Java + Selenium (Web UI automation) o REST Assured (API automation) o Cucumber (BDD) for executable specifications o Cypress for modern web UI testing where applicable • Ensure automation is reliable, maintainable, and scalable, aligned to engineering best practices.

2. Drive API quality for Java/Spring microservices • Validate RESTful APIs built with Spring/Spring Boot for: o Functional correctness o Schema and contract adherence o Error handling and edge cases • Use tools like Postman and Insomnia for exploratory testing, debugging, and contract validation, converting learnings into automated tests.

3. Implement performance and non functional testing • Design and execute performance, load, and stress tests using JMeter and BlazeMeter. • Establish performance baselines and monitor regression risks related to: o Throughput o Latency o Resource utilization • Collaborate with developers on tuning and interpreting performance results.

4. Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast feedback and act as quality gates. • Ensure automation runs efficiently in shared environments and supports parallel execution.

5. Test strategy, reporting, and defect ownership • Contribute to test strategy, coverage analysis, and risk assessment. • Produce clear, actionable defect reports with strong diagnostics and reproduction steps. • Continuously improve test processes, frameworks, and standards.

All About You – Required Qualifications Core requirements • 6+ years of experience in automation heavy QA / SDET roles. • Strong hands on experience with Java and test automation frameworks. • Solid expertise in: o Selenium (UI automation) o REST Assured (API testing) o Cucumber (BDD approach) o Cypress (UI automation) • Provide technical leadership and guidance to QA teams across multiple delivery streams. • Define comprehensive test plans covering functional, non-functional, and automation testing • Strong understanding of Spring / Spring Boot–based applications. • Experience using Postman and Insomnia for API testing and troubleshooting. • Hands on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter and BlazeMeter. • Good understanding of CI/CD concepts and test execution in pipelines. • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem solving skills. Nice to have • Experience designing or evolving automation frameworks (not just writing test cases). • Familiarity with test design patterns (Page Object Model, API abstraction layers, BDD best practices). • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. • Exposure to containerized or cloud based test environments. • Exposure to Test Management tool like JIRA, ALM, Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Prior experience building automation for ETL / streaming / billing / financial systems / Payments or Card Services industry, is plus.
