Procurement Specialist, Global Procurement

Job Description:

Role Purpose

As a Procurement Specialist at Capco, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Capco's procurement function from a predominantly operational and transactional model towards a strategic, value-driven business function. Acting as a subject matter expert (SME) across procurement operations, supplier governance, risk management, systems optimisation and commercial controls, the role will drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement maturity, operational efficiency and business value.

What You’ll Do

The Procurement Specialist will lead the implementation of scalable procurement practices, development of policy, processes and governance mechanisms that support Capco's continued growth across geographies, service lines and client sectors. As the organisation expands its capabilities in areas such as Energy, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and managed services, the role will ensure procurement remains agile, commercially focused and capable of managing increasing supplier complexity while maintaining robust controls and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Information Technology, Information Security, Data Protection, Legal, Operations, Marketing and Regional business leadership, the Procurement Specialist will embed procurement into strategic decision-making processes, enabling better supplier outcomes, enhanced commercial leverage, improved risk management and stronger financial governance.

This role combines operational expertise with strategic thinking and will be instrumental in transforming procurement into a proactive business partner that delivers measurable value beyond transactional purchasing activity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Procurement Development and Value Creation

Procurement Transformation

· Develop initiatives that enhance the maturity of Capco's Global Procurement function, supporting the transition from transactional activities towards strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and value creation.

· Develop procurement performance metrics and reporting that demonstrate procurement's contribution to business objectives and operational outcomes.

 

Strategic Supplier Management

· Establish supplier performance management frameworks incorporating commercial, operational, risk and sustainability measures.

· Partner with business stakeholders to drive supplier performance improvements, innovation opportunities and cost optimisation initiatives.

 

Sustainability and Responsible Procurement

· Support procurement's contribution to Capco's sustainability agenda through supplier engagement, ESG assessments and reporting.

· Embed sustainability requirements into sourcing strategy, business decisions, contracting and supplier management activities.

 

Stakeholder and Wipro Engagement

· Act as a key procurement representative with Wipro, owning procurement performance reporting and contributing to broader procurement strategy alignment.

· Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to position procurement as a trusted advisor and strategic business partner.

2. Procurement Systems and Process Excellence

Procurement Systems

· Lead the optimisation and continuous improvement of procurement systems including ERP systems and TPRM platforms.

· Oversee supplier due diligence, supplier onboarding and ongoing monitoring activities to ensure appropriate risk visibility across the supplier portfolio.

· Drive adoption of digital procurement capabilities that improve user experience, promote automation to drive process efficiency and reporting quality.

Purchase-to-Pay Excellence

· Ensure Purchase-to-Pay processes support efficient requisitioning, approvals, purchasing and supplier onboarding while maintaining appropriate controls.

· Analyse procurement data to identify process bottlenecks, compliance issues and improvement opportunities.

 

Contract and Supplier Lifecycle Management

· Lead implementation of contract lifecycle management capabilities.

· Provide contract management and provide supplier performance processes that are standardized and globally aligned.

· Drive continuous improvement of procurement operating procedures and documentation.

3. Procurement and Financial Governance

Procurement Policy and Compliance

· Identify opportunities to optimise Capco procurement policy, processes and governance to improve efficiency, effectiveness and stakeholder experience.

· Promote procurement policy adherence through stakeholder engagement, training and monitoring activities.

 

Financial Governance

· Strengthen procurement controls relating to supplier approvals, purchasing authority and spend governance.

· Deliver reporting and analysis that supports improved spend visibility and decision-making.

 

Training and Capability Building

· Support the development of procurement capability across the organisation through training, guidance and stakeholder engagement.

· Promote procurement best practice and increase awareness of procurement processes, policies and strategic objectives.

4. Spend Analytics, Category Management and Sourcing Strategy

Data & Insight

· Provide spend analytics to generate insights into procurement activity, savings opportunities and commercial risks.

· Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, demand management, cost optimisation and improved commercial outcomes.

· Provide data-driven decision making for business stakeholders.

 

Commercial Strategy

· Conduct market analysis, supplier benchmarking and commercial assessments to inform sourcing decisions and strengthen procurement's role as a strategic advisor.

· Monitor spend category performance and supplier market developments, providing recommendations on emerging risks, opportunities and sourcing approaches.

 

 

Market Engagement & Negotiation (Strategic Sourcing)

· Partner with business function to develop sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, risk, sustainability and operational requirements.

· Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, competitive bidding, supplier negotiations and contract renewals to optimize commercial value and mitigate risk.

· Identify opportunities to leverage Capco's global buying power and supplier relationships to drive efficiencies, standardisation and improved commercial terms.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

· Experience across procurement or supply chain related roles.

· Exposure to driving procurement transformation, process improvement or procurement maturity initiatives.

· Experience of embedding procurement policies and procedures.

· Strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, supplier onboarding, contract management, purchase-to-pay processes and supplier performance management.

· Experience managing supplier relationships and supporting commercial negotiations, contract renewals and sourcing activities.

· Strong understanding of supplier risk management, due diligence processes and third-party governance frameworks.

· Experience working with procurement technology platforms, including ERP systems, contract management and supplier governance tools.

· Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and challenge constructively at all organisational levels.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision making.

· Strategic and commercial acumen with the ability to balance business needs, risk considerations and cost optimisation objectives.

· Degree qualified and/or MCIPS accredited (or working towards accreditation).

 

Desirable

· Experience within professional services, consulting, financial services or technology-enabled organisations.

· Experience of implementing procurement systems, workflows or automation initiatives.

· Knowledge of sustainability, ESG and responsible procurement practices.

· Understanding of third-party risk management (TPRM) platforms.

· Knowledge of supplier diversity, sustainability reporting and emerging procurement best practices.
