Role Summary

The Tech Lead plays a key role in leading the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strong software engineering and solution design skills with a solid understanding of data and modern data platforms.

Working across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), the Tech Lead works closely with business, product, architecture, and engineering teams to translate requirements into practical technical solutions, guide implementation, and ensure high-quality delivery within Agile environments.

 

What You’ll Do

• Lead technical design and delivery across applications, integrations, and data-driven solutions
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, including design and code reviews, troubleshooting, and implementation guidance
• Define and apply engineering standards, architectural patterns, and development best practices
• Collaborate with business, product, architecture, engineering, and infrastructure teams throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Design and build solutions across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments
• Guide application and integration design using APIs, microservices, messaging, and event-driven approaches
• Apply strong data fundamentals including data modelling, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data integration
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability, availability, and reliability requirements
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints and drive practical resolution
• Support Agile delivery through estimation, backlog refinement, solution clarification, and technical decision-making
• Work with stakeholders to balance delivery priorities, technical quality, and long-term maintainability

 

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering or technology delivery, including technical leadership responsibilities
• Strong hands-on software development background with experience leading engineering teams
• Strong knowledge of modern application architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and microservices
• Good understanding of data architecture, data modelling, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data integration
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern engineering practices
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and strong SQL fundamentals
• Strong understanding of security, scalability, availability, performance, and other non-functional requirements
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and code quality practices
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences

Additional Skills & Experience

• Experience with modern data platforms or technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent is an advantage
• Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, Telecommunications, E-commerce, or Enterprise Technology environments
• Knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies
• Exposure to data governance, data quality, lineage, and security principles
• Experience leading or mentoring software engineers and data engineers
