EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
- Technical or trade education, preferably in a related field such as facilities management, business administration or a similar area.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in maintenance, facilities management, or similar field. Or any combination of both.
FUNCTIONS:
- Trains, develops, evaluates, and manages facilities staff and reviews their work for sufficiency of scope and accuracy.
- Develops the facilities budget including forecasting and tracking expenses related to maintenance, repairs, utilities, and other facility related costs. Identifies cost-saving opportunities and makes recommendations to optimize resource allocations.
- Analyzes and resolves facility and infrastructure issues.
- Maintains and oversees repair of existing building systems, equipment, and components. Monitors and evaluates the performance of systems and equipment. Serves as the main point of contact for facility-related matters.
- Selects, contracts, and manages relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for facility-related services, such as maintenance, repairs, security, cleaning, and landscaping. This involves negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring quality of service delivery.
- Provides technical MEP knowledge and diagnoses building system issues, is on call to respond to emergency issues.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with all safety codes and regulations, analyzes, and resolves facility and infrastructure issues, monitors, and evaluates the performance of systems and equipment.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- General knowledge of accounting/financial principles, industry standard, internal controls, and internal audit practices.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to review and prioritize maintenance requests and follow up in a timely manner.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to build relationships.
- Strong Customer Service skills, patience, and tact.
