EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree with five (5) or more years’ work experience in the areas of process improvement, training and development, and events planning and coordination is preferred.
JOB SUMMARY
- The Legal Operations Specialist provides operational, administrative, and programmatic support to the Legal Department with a focus on improving efficiency, consistency, and team capability.
- This role partners closely with department leadership to establish competency models and needed training, refine processes, and support day‑to‑day legal operations.
- The Legal Operations Specialist does not perform substantive legal work or paralegal functions but instead enables attorneys to operate effectively through strong process design, documentation, training delivery, event coordination, and administrative support.
- Also assists the SVP Deputy General Counsel through coordination of various department and leadership meetings as well as preparation or review of materials being shared within the Association.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support the day‑to‑day operational needs of the Legal Department, helping ensure workflows, tools, and processes operate smoothly and efficiently.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and documentation across key legal functions.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, legal leadership, and operations partners to improve the overall effectiveness of the Legal Department by researching and implementing best practices related to department operations, training, documentation, and process management.
- Partner with Legal leadership and Human Resources to design, document, and maintain competency models and training programs for key legal and legal‑adjacent roles, including onboarding, role‑specific training, and continuous development initiatives
REQUIRED SKILLS

Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.

Strong functional knowledge of business processes and requirements with familiarity of Farm Credit and our mission. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, handle multiple concurrent tasks and learn new business systems quickly.

Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills, excellent oral and written communications skills, analytical skills, problem solving, and organizational skills are essential.
