Overview:

This role offers a unique opportunity to launch a career in the alternative investment management industry, gaining exposure to all aspects of the Sales functions at Capstone Investment Advisors. As member of the team, you will join a group of experienced professionals benefit from world-class training and take on significant responsibility with exposure to a diverse range of activities in a fast-paced environment at a successful, growing firm. The Analyst will be able to build a successful long-term career at the firm, with the ability to develop into a dedicated Sales role, Investor Relations role, or other role within the firm over time.

In this role, you will be involved in all aspects of the sales process, from researching to uncovering new prospective investors, to supporting and driving internal and external communication. You will also assist with investor-related trips and meetings, and engage in various other areas of the team and company. Responsibilities and Impact:

Supporting the Sales Process

  • Provide support to US-based sales team
  • Maintain and update Capstone’s client relationship management system (Backstop) with investor connectivity, including meeting/call notes and email correspondences
  • Assist with sales pipeline management and reporting to senior management on the sales process
  • Use available tools to engage in research, investor trends, and investment mandates/RFPs to uncover new prospects
  • Work with Sales team on prospecting new clients and relationship maintenance for existing clients
  • Prepare client meeting prep materials, handle meeting/call notes, and assist with follow up correspondence
  • Help organize travel and events with Sales and PMs, including PM roadshows, educational lunch events, and meetings surrounding conferences
  • Support Capital Introduction/Prime Broker relations – coordinate hedge fund conferences, prep presenters/speakers, prep investor attendee notes and materials
  • Coordinate with Investor Relations on investor communication, reporting, RFP submissions and legal documents
  • Potential involvement in planning Capstone’s educational events, such as GVS, DRF and topical webcasts
  • Potential to travel and attend industry conferences to represent Capstone
  • Work with Capstone’s Solutions Team to assist in Compliance approval and tracking of materials for prospective investors
  • Support Sales Team by automating reporting processes where needed

Training

  • In-house program to learn the strategies and funds offered by Capstone
  • Three month in-house program to learn financial markets and derivatives
  • Regulatory qualifications, for example, Series 3
  • Knowledge-based training, for example, CAIA or CFA
  • Skills-based training, for example, in presentation and negotiation skills
  • Be mentored by a Senior Sales/Client Solutions individual professional

Strategy

  • Assist in ad-hoc Client Solutions-specific projects
  • Play a role in helping to move forward firm-wide strategic initiatives
  • Develop strong product, strategy and industry knowledge

Our Future Colleague Has These Skills:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree, with interest or experience in a marketing, finance, investor relations, sales or a related field
  • Strong Computer / Excel / PowerPoint / Programming / Python skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Motivated and proactive. Able to work independently within a team
  • Extremely organized and high attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize among many time-sensitive demands

The applicable base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 USD. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
