Overview: 

Capstone’s 2027 Summer Risk Tech Internship is a ten-week program designed to provide interns with practical exposure to the firm’s Risk Tech team and broader working environment. Interns will support the team’s day-to-day activities while completing a defined project designed to provide a meaningful learning experience and address a relevant business need. 

We are seeking intellectually curious, analytical, and motivated candidates with a demonstrated interest in financial markets and investment management. During the program, interns may gain exposure to how risk is measured and managed across multiple asset classes and strategies. This includes analysing live trades and seeing how they perform across hundreds of thousands of historical and hypothetical scenarios, breaking down traders’ PnL to understand what drives it, and calculating the firm’s exposure to key risk factors to understand how market moves will affect our PnL and how best to manage that. 

Our future colleague has these skills: 

  • Studying towards or holding a degree in a quantitative subject (Comp Sci, Maths, Engineering, Physics or similar), or equivalent experience 
  • Strong programming ability in Python, Java or C, demonstrated through projects or work experience 
  • Able to explain technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues 
  • Takes ownership of problems, from research to design and implementation

  • Prior internship, academic, or professional experience within financial services, investment management, or a related field is preferred.

The hourly pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
