Software Engineer - Responsibilities: 

  • Develop features for the web-based database application that is core to our interactions with experts and clients
  • Maintain database design to ensure efficiency and scalability
  • Work actively with front-line team members of our Product and Operations teams to identify problems and design solutions that increase their efficiency
  • Develop a strong understanding of our fast-moving business, developing tight-knit relationships with building custom software features based on Return on Investment (ROI)
  • Utilize creative problem-solving skills to tackle complex solutions
  • Contribute to custom software quality assurance by participating in test planning and execution
  • Build positive relationships with team members and foster a collaborative work environment
  • Consistently deliver high-quality output, ensuring all technical issues are resolved efficiently and effectively

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Computer Science or software engineering preferred, not required) 
  • 2-8 years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer, focused on database and back end, with experience in developing web apps
  • Proficient in Java
  • Experience with the Spring web app framework
  • Experience in database management and design
  • Familiarity with implementation of GDPR, ISO, SOC 2 and other commonly required data security paradigms
  • Experience with AWS administration
  • Proficient in SQL for reporting and business intelligence
  • Native or fluent in Mandarin Chinese 
  • Strong interpersonal and English verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work remotely and during off-hours as necessary
  • Excellent time management skills and unwavering commitment

Preferred Qualifications (A+):

  • Experience in front-end engineering
  • Experience with Kotlin
  • Experience working with popular generative AI models, and integrating them into other applications
  • Proficient in Vue.js
  • Proficient in Python
  • Recently acquired certifications (not required but a plus)
  • Familiarity with custom software quality assurance, test planning, and execution

Benefits + Compensation: 

  • Competitive compensation program + sign-on bonus + performance bonus + $1,200 stipend + $600 phone reimbursement + company-sponsored meal plan. The base salary for this role is $100,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience and alignment to the above qualifications.
