Carbon's Design to Production team is focused on collaborating with customers to help them successfully utilize Carbon’s technology. Customers choose Carbon to create prototypes, functional prototypes, develop products faster and everything from low to high volume production. In this role, we are looking for someone who can successfully partner with our current customers to drive growth and utilization, while also finding new customers who will find value in Carbon’s technology. This person will lead a team who will generate, nurture, and qualify leads as well as directly manage, support and grow our current customer base across a diverse range of segments, including consumer products, automotive, industrial, and Med Tech.

The strong preference for this role is for someone to be located in the Bay Area, working Mon - Fri in our Redwood City, CA office, but hybrid may be considered for the right candidate. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Account Managers responsible for growing Carbon’s installation base across production partners and brands
  • Develop and execute proactive customer retention and expansion strategies
  • Analyze customer experience and health metrics, identifying key indicators and trends
  • Influence leadership, peers and the team on marketplace dynamics and successful growth strategies
  • Contribute to the development of new product and service offerings based on customer needs
  • Maximize the effectiveness of Account Management tools and resources
  • Act as an escalation point for complex negotiations, optimizing deal structures
  • Represent Carbon at trade shows and conferences to network and generate leads and build relationships with customers
  • Promote a positive culture aligned with Carbon’s core values

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of Sales/Account Management leadership experience, with a proven record of meeting or exceeding lead generation and sales metrics.
  • Exceptional leadership communication skills, with the ability to independently drive growth strategies
  • Proven track record of successful management of account management or sales teams
  • Demonstrated global focus and experience in building relationships internationally.
  • Capability to discuss technical and application-based concepts with potential customers, adapting to varied industry contexts.
  • Experience with negotiating diverse customer accounts, from SMB to enterprise
  • Ability to develop strategic plans and optimize processes for long-term scalability
  • Empathy for customers combined with a passion for revenue growth
  • Background in additive technology or digital manufacturing solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining salary. The Bay Area, CA compensation bracket for this position is a base and variable amount of $202,400 - $303,600 per year. In order to maintain equitable internal pay practices, we aim to hire new employees near the midpoint of $253,000, taking into account your experience, work location, certifications, and the unique skills you bring to the role.
