Material Handler

We are seeking a Material Handler to work with our Manufacturing team at Carbon. You'll perform a number of different tasks all centered on shipping, receiving, and warehousing.
This role requires being onsite Monday through Friday.
Warehouse:
- Organize materials in inventory and maintain accurate data for quantities on hand. Distribution of parts into and out of inventory, to and from shipping/receiving and/or the manufacturing line. Prepare kits for assembly or shipment.
- Perform system transactions to reflect each movement of inventory quickly and accurately. Maintains inventory records by adding or deleting supplies as they are shipped or received
- Participate in physical inventories of warehouse
- Keep the warehouse/shipping/receiving area clean and organized to maintain a safe and efficient working environment; may secure the warehouse and set alarms
- Lead, guide, and train employees performing related work
Receiving:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments. Verify contents against information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment. Process return shipments from customers and ensure incoming materials are properly routed
- Inspect incoming shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damages, notify supervisor and/or purchasing personnel and reject unsatisfactory items.
Requirements:
- Must maintain and adhere to all safety and quality standards
- Experience maintaining inventory in a warehouse/stockroom environment
- Basic computer skills required to maintain data transactions and email
- Must be capable of understanding, following procedures through verbal and written communication
- Ability to read and verify numbers, including sorting, counting, and other simple arithmetic
- Ability to perform moderate physical activity, as required, including standing and/or walking for more than four hours per day, and ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
- Must be able to pass forklift driver training and receive operator’s license
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- APICs training/certification helpful
At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. The pay range for this position is $25.48 - $33.12 USD per hour. In order to maintain equitable internal pay practices, we aim to hire new employees near the midpoint of $29.33, taking into account your experience, work location, certifications, and the unique skills you bring to the role. If you are not based in our Redwood City office, the range above will be adjusted for the geographical differential associated with your actual work location. (Note: This role is located in the Bay Area).
