Position: Boiler Technician / Installer

Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: In person (job sites throughout the greater Kirkland area)

 

Job Purpose:

To install and maintain high-performance hydronic heating systems, boilers, geothermal systems, fuel gas piping, and controls for custom residential and commercial projects. This role demands excellent craftsmanship, system knowledge, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, layout, and complete boiler and hydronic heating system installations from start to finish.

  • Read and interpret technical blueprints and system diagrams.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in existing systems and perform repairs or upgrades.

  • Coordinate with other trades on job sites to maximize efficiency and minimize conflicts.

  • Design and install hydronic, geothermal, and gas piping systems with a high standard of quality.

  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and work areas in a professional and safe manner.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and safety standards.

  • Occasionally work with refrigeration systems, low-voltage HVAC controls, and sheet metal (a plus, not required).

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in boiler installation, hydronics, or related HVAC trades.

  • Strong technical knowledge of hydronic systems and integrated controls.

  • Ability to read and understand architectural and technical drawings.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. routinely, and occasionally over 100 lbs.

  • Physically able to walk, bend, crawl, and navigate job sites safely.

  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License and clean driving record.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen (including cannabis) and background check.

 

Preferred (Not Required) Certifications/Licenses:

These are bonuses, not requirements – we're happy to consider qualified candidates who are working toward these or have equivalent experience.

  • EPA Type II or Universal Certification

  • Washington 06A Journeyman or 06B Residential Electrical License

  • Seattle Gas License

  • Seattle Refrigeration License

  • CPR Certification
