Job Title: Director of Operations, Virtual Care Management 

Location: Denver, CO (preferred) or Houston, TX 

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) 

The Director of Operations for Virtual Care Management will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational management of virtual care programs within the organization. The CardioOne Virtual Care Management Program will incorporate aspects of TCM, CCM, Device Monitoring and other support services to virtually support patients health and wellbeing. This role will work with the CardioOne leadership team to design, build, scale and operate a best-in-class virtual cardiac care platform. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a strong background in care coordination and various CMS based programs, experience in driving virtual care and remote programs, and an understanding of virtual care technologies and how to build and leverage workflows to drive outcomes.  

Key Responsibilities: 

Leadership and Strategy: 

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for virtual care management programs, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals. 
  • Lead and manage a cross-functional team responsible for the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of virtual care services. 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive innovation and integration of virtual care into the broader CardioOne network. 

Operational Excellence: 

  • Oversee the daily operations of virtual care programs, including telehealth services, remote patient monitoring, and other virtual care modalities. 
  • Ensure seamless integration of virtual care solutions with CardioOne’s practices, an extended care team of the practices 
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of virtual care programs, taking corrective actions as needed. 
  • Build and manage 24/7 virtual support models 

Quality and Compliance: 

  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, CMS guidelines, clinical protocols established by the providers, billing guidelines and other relevant industry standards. 
  • Implement best practices for virtual care delivery, focusing on patient safety, engagement, and outcomes. 
  • Monitor patient satisfaction and ensure that virtual care experiences meet or exceed expectations. 

Technology and Innovation: 

  • Partner with the IT department to enhance virtual care capabilities, ensuring the infrastructure supports growth and innovation. 
  • Drive the adoption of digital health tools and solutions to improve the efficiency and quality of care delivery. 
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in telehealth, virtual care management, and healthcare technology to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of virtual care delivery. 

Financial Management: 

  • Develop and manage the budget for virtual care operations, ensuring the efficient use of resources and achieving financial targets. 
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining high levels of care quality. 
  • Analyze cost-benefit ratios of virtual care programs and provide insights for future investment decisions. 

Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including clinical teams, payers, patients, and regulatory bodies. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, insurers, and technology vendors to enhance virtual care services. 
  • Engage patients and families to ensure they understand the virtual care options available and are actively involved in their care. 

Team Development and Training: 

  • Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team to support virtual care operations. 
  • Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to team members to ensure optimal performance and engagement. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the virtual care management team. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, including at least 5 years managing care coordination programs or tele-health services. 
  • Strong preference for a clinician operator (RN, Case Manager, etc) 
  • Certification in Healthcare Management (e.g., FACHE, CHC) or Telehealth-specific certifications preferred 
  • Proven experience with managing multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale operational projects. 
  • Familiarity with virtual care platforms, telemedicine technologies, and digital health solutions. 
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, reimbursement models, and quality improvement initiatives. 

Skills: 

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development and cost management. 
  • Ability to drive change, influence stakeholders, and manage complex, evolving programs. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively. 
  • In-depth knowledge of virtual care workflows, patient engagement strategies, and tele-health best practices. 

Work Environment: 

  • Hybrid work environment, depending on organizational policies and needs. 
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, conferences, and site visits. 

Salary & Benefits: 

  • Full time salary range of $140,000 to $150,000 based on experience.
