Principal, HR Business Partner (Commercial)

The Director, HRBP is responsible for partnering with our global commercial C-level leaders and their teams to develop and implement people and culture strategies to drive business results as thought partners, trusted advisors, change agents, and consultants on topics related to talent within the business.  This role requires strong coaching skills, change management, and the ability to plan and execute flawlessly on people-related activities (ex: organizational design, performance management cycles, employee engagement surveys, etc.). This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has extensive strategic and HR functional knowledge and thrives in managing multiple people initiatives and interactions across all levels of the organization.  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the business to appropriately guide and influence leaders on their talent agenda. 
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with multiple leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution. 
  • Guide business through all talent processes, including performance management cycle, compensation processes, internal mobility, business unit restructuring, workforce and succession planning, and manager training. 
  • Partner with hiring managers, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards on opening and closing roles ensuring alignment with CareDx’s job architecture and org design. 
  • Provide day to day performance management guidance to all levels of leadership (e.g. coaching, counseling, career development, performance improvement plans.)
  • Support onboarding of new leaders, including facilitation of new leader assimilation. 
  • Manage and resolve ER issues in partnership with our HR Ops and Legal team, including investigations, disciplinary actions and terminations, and HR policies and practices, among others
  • Develop and execute talent development programs, such as manager training series and mentoring programs, in partnership with HRBP Team, HR Ops and other cross functional stakeholders.
  • Mentor other HR team professionals, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation to effectively execute and deliver for the business.
  • Collaborate with HR, Legal and Finance partners to assess current processes and identify areas for efficiency, transformation, and automation.
  • Demonstrate a high level of ownership and commitment to achieving results when engaging with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Promote a Growth mindset and strategic agility, driving innovation, learning quickly, and pushing for what’s possible near and long term
  • Create, manage and or participate in special projects and initiatives that require cross organizational collaboration efforts 
  • Role model our values in support of our organizational culture

 Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required: 

  • BA/BS degree
  • 10+ years in progressive senior HR positions, demonstrating accountability, impact, growth, with at least 5 years of experience in HRBP function
  • Prior experience partnering with VP and C-Suite level executives.  Comfortable partnering with both employees and leadership and moving regularly between tactical and strategic priorities
  • Prior experience working for medical device, life science, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and gene or cell therapy preferred.
  • Prior experience partnering with Sales Ops/Compensation on Incentive Plans and Sales Benefits Policies preferred
  • Strategic mindset with excellent project management with strong delivery & execution focus
  • Experience leading change initiatives from end to end. 
  • Self-motivated and assertive with the ability to hunt down answers and drive solutions autonomously 
  • Ability to engage and influence without direct authority.
  • Proven track record in creating and implementing talent development strategies and plans
  • Strong MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) skills, with creative presentation and advanced excel skills.
  • Displays strong business acumen – sees the big picture and operates with perspective
  • Resilience and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple priorities and departments.
  • Ability to travel as required

 

This is the anticipated base salary range for candidates who will work in Brisbane, California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience within the job, the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units. CareDx is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.

San Francisco Bay Area Roles:

$180,000 - $230,000 USD
