Our Bikes team is on a mission to transform the way people move in our cities. With a growing fleet of over 2,000 electric bikes across Dubai and Medinah, and a pipeline to expand across the region, this team sits at the heart of our vision for sustainable urban mobility. We operate in a dynamic environment, working closely with city authorities, commercial partners, product and tech teams, and a passionate ground operations force to deliver safe, reliable, and green transport solutions.

Role Overview:

Reporting to: VP of Ventures

Location: Dubai, UAE

We’re looking for a seasoned and entrepreneurial General Manager to lead Careem Bikes across the region. This is a strategic leadership role focused on scaling our existing micromobility footprint, executing our regional expansion, and evolving our business model through innovation and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be equally strong in commercial thinking, stakeholder relationship management, and cross-functional delivery.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee the strategy, sustainable growth, and P&L of the Bikes business across the UAE and KSA, ensuring long-term market leadership.
  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team across operations, commercial, and product, fostering a high-performance and accountable culture.
  • Drive successful expansion projects in the UAE and KSA, including launch readiness, resource planning, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Ensure operational excellence across the board, maintaining service quality, customer experience, profitability, and continuous growth.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with government stakeholders, navigating regulatory dynamics with credibility and foresight.
  • Partner with Ads and Partnerships teams to unlock new monetisation levers.
  • Champion structured prioritisation to balance disciplined delivery with speed and agility across functions.
  • Continuously evolve the operating model, leveraging new technologies, data-driven insights, and market innovations.

What you'll need:

  • 12+ years of leadership experience in the mobility space (bike sharing, micro-mobility, transport, or adjacent sectors).
  • Strong track record of driving sustainable growth and managing large-scale P&L ownership.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, particularly in engaging with regulators and government entities.
  • Commercially minded, with experience unlocking new revenue streams and partnerships.
