Marketing Manager

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Careem is building the Everything App for the greater Middle East — making it easy to move around, order food and groceries, manage payments, and more. Our purpose is simple: to simplify and improve people’s lives and build an awesome organisation that inspires.
Since 2012, Careem has enabled earnings for over 2.5 million Captains, simplified the lives of more than 70 million customers, and built a platform where the region’s best talent and entrepreneurs thrive. We operate in 70+ cities across 10 countries, from Morocco to Pakistan.

We’re now entering our next chapter — one powered by AI. We’re looking for AI talent: curious problem-solvers who know how to apply AI to build tools, automate workflows, and create real impact. Whether it’s streamlining operations, enhancing customer experience, or reimagining internal systems — we want people who can make Careem work smarter and move faster.

About the Role

As the Marketing Manager for Ventures, you will be the strategic architect and the operational engine behind marketing for Careem’s Shops and Box services. This role is for a high-energy marketer who loves to build from the ground up. You will take raw consumer insights and turn them into a locked-in marketing calendar, then roll up your sleeves to ensure every campaign is executed to perfection.

A significant portion of this role is Marketing Project Management, you aren’t just coming up with ideas; you are the one ensuring they cross the finish line on time, within budget, and at the highest quality.

What You’ll Do

Marketing Strategy & Planning

  • Insight to Action: Gather market insights and identify specific user segments for Shops and Box. Define the "jobs to be done" for these users and how our services solve their specific pain points.
  • Ideation & Prioritization: Lead brainstorming sessions to develop creative initiatives. You will be responsible for filtering these ideas based on business impact and feasibility.
  • The Master Calendar: Build, own, and lock the marketing calendar. You will plot initiatives across various channels, ensuring a balanced and consistent presence for both Shops and Box throughout the year.

Owning and Driving  End-to-End Execution

  • Flawless Delivery: Transition from strategist to operator. You will own the end-to-end execution of the marketing calendar, ensuring all stakeholders (Creative, CRM, Social, Commercial) deliver on time.
  • Quality Control: Act as the brand guardian for Ventures. Whether it’s an in-app banner or a social media stunt, you ensure the output is high-quality and aligns with the Careem brand voice.
  • Resource Orchestration: Manage the marketing budget and internal resources efficiently to ensure every campaign has what it needs to succeed.

Learning & Iterating

  • Performance Reviews: Conduct "Post-Mortems" for every major initiative. You will analyze what worked, what didn’t, and why.
  • Agile Adjustments: Use your findings to pivot quickly. You are responsible for deciding what we should "Stop, Start, and Continue" doing to optimize our marketing efforts for the next cycle.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Turn campaign results into actionable playbooks that can be used to scale Ventures across different markets.

What You’ll Need

  • The "Project Lead" Mindset: 5+ years of experience in marketing with a heavy emphasis on campaign management and execution.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to look at a broad goal (e.g., "Grow Box orders") and break it down into a prioritized list of marketing initiatives.
  • Bias for Action: You are execution-oriented. You don’t get stuck in "analysis paralysis", you prefer to launch, learn, and fix on the fly.
  • Stakeholder Management: Since you sit at the center of execution, you must be excellent at managing expectations and driving cross-functional teams toward a deadline.
  • Adaptability: You thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift. You are comfortable being the "owner" of your domain.

We offer colleagues the opportunity to drive impact in the region while they learn and grow. As a full time Careem colleague, you will be able to:

Optional AI Challenge

Accepted file types: pdf, doc, docx, txt, rtf

We love AI savviness — here’s your chance to show how you think with AI. This step is optional, but strong submissions will help you stand out in our screening process.

Attempt one challenge below:

1. AI Campaign Architect:
Build a prototype that generates a multi-channel marketing plan (email, social, web) based on a single product description. Show how AI can ensure consistent brand voice across all assets.

2. The Predictive Growth Engine:
Build or demo a tool that analyzes customer behavior or historical data to predict which segment is most likely to churn or convert.

3. Creative Copy Optimizer Prompt:
Design a ChatGPT prompt that takes a technical product feature and transforms it into three different "hook" variations: one emotional, one data-driven, and one humorous.

How it works:
- Use any public or dummy data (e.g. Kaggle, data.gov, or self-created), if required. Avoid using any confidential information.
- You can use free tools like ChatGPT, Google Colab, Google Sheets + App Script, Streamlit, or Hugging Face. Expect to spend around 30–60 minutes on it.

Submit:

- A public link, document, or screenshots of your prototype or prompt
- A public dataset link (if relevant)
- A short 100-word summary of your idea and approach
