Whether it’s streamlining operations, enhancing customer experience, or reimagining internal systems — we want people who can make Careem work smarter and move faster.

About The Role:
At Careem, we're on a mission to simplify and improve the lives of people across our region and that starts with building world-class internal systems that empower our teams to do their best work. We are looking for a hands-on Enterprise Applications Manager to join our IT Enterprise Applications team. In this role, you will serve as a technical lead for our Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Desk), owning the design, development, and day-to-day support of tools used within Careem across multiple countries.

Beyond Atlassian, you will play a key role in ensuring our enterprise IT applications spanning productivity, HR, and collaboration tools are aligned with business objectives, optimized for performance, and integrated seamlessly across systems. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of technology, operations, and employee experience

What You'll Do:

  • Providing technical leadership and day-to-day support on Atlassian applications (JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, confluence).
  • Develop new workflows, create custom fields / screens and scripts to automate tasks.
  • Create JIRA based reports, dashboards and planning views based on different user requirements.
  • Help colleagues in building their own simple and complex JQL queries.
  • Provide support, troubleshoot issues, communicate with stakeholders and improve the processes and workflows.
  • Manage different systems access and permission configurations to ensure compliance and enforce best practices.
  • Log and track all incidents via the ITSM tool (Jira) and follow the incident management process.
  • Problem Management to ensure that incidents are reviewed for recurring issues and problems are highlighted.
  • Provide workarounds, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and document Known Errors.
  • Implement and maintain Atlassian documentations (User Guides, Operations Guides, Training Manuals, Technical Documents, etc.)
  • Best practices of the Atlassian tools to maximize efficiency and provide recommendation and enhancement of the systems and processes.
  • Implement system upgrades and enhancements to keep pace with technology advancements.
  • Lead change management activities for enterprise application updates and projects.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive Knowledge Base for system processes, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for all project developments, system enhancements, and architectural changes.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
  • 4–7 years of experience managing enterprise systems and applications
  • Hands-on experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Desk)
  • Strong technical skills in programming languages (Java, Python) and cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
  • Experience with system integration and API protocols
  • Solid experience with enterprise platforms including Jira, GitHub, and cross-application integration and automation
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with Groovy scripting for Jira automation (e.g., Script Runner)
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools
  • Experience with both Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • Experience providing admin support for Atlassian-related products
  • Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, ACP, or similar)

Create a prompt that classifies IT request severity, redacts sensitive employee data, and drafts resolution steps based on internal enterprise wikis.
