Employment Specialist

Career Team is looking to hire an Employment Specialist who is experienced in workforce development and career training for populations like the District’s Customers. This role requires expertise in coaching, facilitation, and teaching to prepare customers for employment through engaging classroom instruction. The Employment Specialist will be performed under the supervision of the Project Director. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

  • Conduct workforce development and career training sessions for program participants
  • Utilize coaching, facilitation, and teaching skills to prepare customers for employment
  • Cultivate an engaging learning environment through a variety of training topics and delivery methods
  • Keep customers engaged and motivated throughout the employment preparation process
  • Ensure customers have a sound understanding of key activities required to gain and retain employment
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement effective training strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions and customer progress

  • Ability to create an engaging learning environment by creatively blending training topics and modes of delivery, ensuring that customers remain motivated throughout the employment preparation process
  • Advocate for customers' needs and rights, providing advocacy and support as necessary
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, program enrollments, and outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures
  • Approach each day and task with a “ZAG” mindset
  • Other duties and projects as needed for the success of the program

The Ideal Qualifications for this Position Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR Minimum of five (5) years of experience in adult learning, workforce development, career training, or a related employment field
  • Proficiency in creating stimulating learning environments and a sound understanding of key employment activities
  • Prior experience working with populations similar to the District’s customers
  • Proficient in facilitation, coaching, and effective communication
  • Computer literate with knowledge of relevant software and tools
  • Ability to create stimulating learning environments and keep customers engaged
  • Sound understanding of key activities necessary for successful employment acquisition and retention
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment - must have excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge about the local region and relevant partners
  • Multilingual or Bilingual preferred 
  •  A Valid Driver’s License

Salary: $50,000/yr Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
