The Role:
Carrot is seeking a Director, Demand Generation to own and drive demand generation programs that meet the company’s growth objectives. In this role, you’ll lead a team of specialists to generate interest in Carrot, attract and retain customers, and drive revenue. You’ll oversee the execution of inbound and outbound demand generation programs, ensuring they effectively nurture leads and support pipeline growth. Additionally, you’ll work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and other Carrot teams to drive impact.
This hire will need to be based in the Eastern or Central time zone.
The Team:
This role sits on our Marketing team, reporting to our VP of Marketing. The Marketing team consists of experts across Events, Design, Product Marketing, PR/Communications, and Digital Marketing. Carrot’s Marketing team is responsible for sharing the Carrot story with the world.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor the Demand Generation team, including an Account Based Marketer and a Senior Marketing Manager based in the UK
- Set clear goals, measure success, and continuously optimize team performance
- Oversee Account Based Marketing strategy and execution by:
- Collaborating with the Account Based Marketer to identify, prioritize, and maintain target account lists
- Driving personalized campaigns for 1:1, 1:few, and 1:many account strategies
- Partnering with Sales to align messaging and outreach strategies
- Monitoring and reporting on account engagement, pipeline influence, and ROI
- Oversee region-specific demand generation efforts by:
- Supporting the Senior Marketing Manager in creating and executing localized content and campaigns for international markets
- Ensuring messaging aligns with global brand strategy while resonating with local audiences
- Collaborating on region-specific events, partnerships, and channel tactics to drive awareness and pipeline
- Manage and optimize the Demand Generation budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across paid and organic channels to maximize ROI and pipeline impact.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other marketing leaders, sales, and customer success to align demand generation efforts with business objectives
- Develop and execute short- and long-term multi-channel campaigns to drive high-quality leads and pipeline growth
- Build and refine targeted account list segments for inbound campaigns using Demandbase and other tools
- Oversee email nurture programs to engage and convert prospects at different funnel stages
- Lead the strategy and execution of Carrot’s webinar program to drive engagement and lead generation
- Partner with the inbound sales development team to optimize lead generation efforts and improve conversion rates
- Work closely with the SEO manager to ensure SEO strategy supports demand generation efforts
- Regularly report on funnel health, marketing-sourced pipeline, and overall demand generation performance
- Run A/B tests and continuously optimize campaigns for efficiency and effectiveness
- Manage demand generation budgets, allocate resources effectively, and secure leadership buy-in for new initiatives
Minimum qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in demand generation, with a strong background in inbound marketing, paid acquisition, and lead nurturing
- Experience managing and developing high-performing marketing teams
- Deep understanding of demand generation best practices, industry trends, and marketing operations in B2B environments
- Strong analytical skills with experience in lead forecasting, reporting, and campaign analysis
- Experience working closely with sales and SDR teams to align marketing efforts with revenue goals
- Ability to think strategically while executing with attention to detail
- A growth mindset with a passion for testing, iterating, and scaling successful marketing programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and collaborate effectively across teams
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable in ambiguity — able to function in a flexible, constantly changing environment
Preferred qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Demandbase, HubSpot, Salesforce, and other marketing automation and CRM platforms
Compensation:
Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $160,000- $170,000. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
