The Opportunity 🚀

Carrot is looking for a Nutrition Expert (Registered Dietitian) to join our Medical Experts team as a clinical resource for members navigating fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and broader reproductive health. In this role, you’ll provide evidence-informed, individualized nutrition guidance through one-on-one member sessions, helping people make confident, informed choices at some of the most important moments of their lives.

Day to day, you’ll meet with members by chat and video to talk through their questions, goals, and medical context, then offer clear, practical options they can take back to their own care teams. You’ll also contribute your expertise to internal training and quality initiatives so that nutrition support at Carrot stays accurate, safe, and consistent as our membership grows.

This is a chance to bring your dietetics expertise into a fast-growing digital health environment, working alongside physicians, nurses, and fellow medical experts across pregnancy, fertility, urology, and mental health to deliver a cohesive, compassionate member experience at global scale.

What You’ll Own 💼

In this role, you will:

  • Provide members with evidence-informed nutrition guidance related to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and conditions such as PCOS, thyroid disorders, and gestational diabetes
  • Conduct one-on-one virtual sessions (chat and/or video) that educate and present options without diagnosing or prescribing
  • Stay current on nutrition research, dietetic practice guidelines, and reproductive health best practices
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and audits to help ensure a safe, compliant member experience
  • Contribute nutrition expertise to internal training and continuing education for other Carrot employees
  • Collaborate with the broader Medical Experts team to deliver a consistent, high-quality member experience
  • Maintain flexibility across shifts to meet member demand as the program grows

What Success Looks Like 📈

In your first 12–18 months, you will have:

  • Delivered consistently high-quality, well-rated nutrition sessions across fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum use cases
  • Built strong working relationships with the broader Medical Experts and Clinical Solutions teams
  • Contributed to at least one process, resource, or training improvement that raised the bar for nutrition support at Carrot
  • Maintained full compliance with quality and documentation standards across member interactions
  • Demonstrated reliability and flexibility across your assigned shift as member volume grows

About You ✨

You likely have:

  • Active credentialing as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN); currently practicing or recently retired
  • 3+ years of clinical nutrition experience, including supporting patients through fertility, pregnancy, or postpartum care
  • Experience managing nutrition-related conditions such as PCOS, gestational diabetes, thyroid disorders, or high/low BMI
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to discuss sensitive fertility and pregnancy topics empathetically
  • Strong independent clinical judgment and comfort working autonomously in a confidential, remote environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs and shifting schedules

Nice to Have ⭐

While not required, we would be especially excited if you bring:

  • Experience with functional nutrition or integrative health approaches
  • Private practice experience
  • Lactation certification (e.g., IBCLC) or doula training
  • Experience in digital health or telehealth settings
  • Fluency in an additional language

Why This Role Matters 🧡

Nutrition plays a meaningful role in fertility, pregnancy, and family-building outcomes, and members often aren’t sure who to ask. As a Nutrition Expert, you’ll close that gap directly — giving members clear, compassionate, evidence-based guidance exactly when they need it.

Your expertise helps make Carrot’s clinical program one that members trust and rely on throughout their journey, and it strengthens the confidence of the employers and health plans who count on Carrot to deliver high-quality, whole-person care.
