The Problems You’ll Solve

  • Own technical discovery for large deals – engaging CFOs, controllers, and GCs in Carta’s ERP workflows.
  • Lead complex solution design, tying Carta’s multi-product suite (cap table, waterfall, valuations, FA) into prospect business cases.
  • Run proof-of-concept engagements that validate Carta’s ability to deliver on nuanced financial workflows.
  • Mentor and coach other SEs in demo delivery, objection handling, and product expertise.
  • Drive competitive positioning by mapping Carta’s differentiators vs. legacy FA tools, point solutions, and manual Excel processes.
  • Partner with Delivery and Product to ensure closed-loop solutioning: what we sell matches what we deliver.

The Team You’ll Work With

As a Solutions Engineer at Carta, you will be part of a high-impact team that partners with Account Executives and Client Partners across segments to drive our most important sales opportunities. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Enablement, Strategy, Product, and Delivery teams to act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle.

Your role will focus on deeply understanding customer needs, designing solutions that showcase the full breadth of Carta’s capabilities, and guiding prospects through proof-of-concept engagements that demonstrate the value of our platform. You’ll play a critical part in advancing Carta’s ERP vision, delivering integrated solutions that connect equity, fund administration, compliance, and emerging workflows into one seamless system for our customers.

About You

You are an experienced Solutions Engineer with a proven ability to lead technical solutioning in complex SaaS sales cycles. You bring a consultative mindset and are energized by solving sophisticated problems for finance and legal executives at leading VC and PE firms.

  • 7+ years of experience in solutions engineering, fund administration, valuations, or technical customer success within SaaS or financial technology.
  • A background in Private Equity/Private Credit is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical discovery and translate nuanced customer requirements into scalable solution designs.
  • Skilled in delivering demos and proof-of-concepts that align Carta’s ERP vision—across cap tables, waterfalls, fund admin, and carry—with client business goals.
  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders (CFOs, GCs, Controllers, Partners) and tailoring conversations to both technical and business decision-makers.
  • Proven success in mentoring junior SEs and raising team standards in demo execution, objection handling, and solution storytelling.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Delivery, and Client Partners to ensure consistency between what is scoped, sold, and implemented.
  • Strong competitive acumen, with experience positioning SaaS solutions against legacy tools and manual workflows.

Salary

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is: 

  •  $220,000 - $255,000 OTE in New York City, New York or San Francisco, CA
