The Team You’ll Work With
You will have the opportunity to administer investment vehicles and develop systems and innovative solutions to streamline internal processes. You’ll be performing administration for investment entities on behalf of the most talented venture capitalists, fund managers and dealmakers in the world. You will help them realize their ambitions of supporting the companies of tomorrow through our next-gen investment stack (including legals, vehicle formation, banking, investor onboarding and much more).
You will be supporting specific projects and initiatives across the business while advising stakeholders and clients alike, as part of our Fund Operations team. You will also be collaborating and joining forces with our wider Carta accounting, fund administration and compliance teams on relevant admin issues related to Carta’s products and services. You will also collaborate closely with internal and external teams to ensure effective capital deployment and efficient money movement.
You’ll be joining the Fund Operations team as a Senior. Their mission is to deliver accurate, timely, and scalable SPV administration across the full lifecycle, including tax and financial reporting, reconciliations, distributions, investor communications, and wind-downs - so our clients can focus on investing. Success in this role looks like ownership, speed, accuracy, and scalability, measured by on-time delivery, first-pass quality, cycle times, and client satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as primary reviewer for financial statements, reconciliations, tax filings, regulatory reports, and investor notices.
- Own complex/edge cases end-to-end, including exits, waterfalls, restructurings, multi-entity flows, and cross-jurisdiction issues.
- Oversee distribution events: requirements, approvals, investor calculations, banking/treasury coordination, and post-distribution reconciliations.
- Run strategic client interactions (planning/status/escalations), manage expectations, and translate requirements into clear execution plans.
- Maintain and publish the SPV calendar (filings, FATCA/CRS, audits); forecast capacity and proactively de-risk deadlines.
- Coach, mentor, and upskill associates; contribute to hiring, onboarding, and training content; provide clear review feedback.
- Track and report KPIs; perform root-cause analysis on defects and drive corrective actions that improve speed, accuracy, and scalability.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Fund Admin, Treasury/Banking, and Accounting to manage dependencies and resolve issues.
About You
- 3+ years in fund administration, public accounting, or PE/VC operations with SPV exposure; 2+ years reviewing work and/or supervising others.
- Deep understanding of the SPV lifecycle: formation close, banking and investor onboarding, investments, exits, distributions, tax/financial reporting, and wind-down.
- Strong technical foundation in financial reporting and SPV tax/reporting obligations; working knowledge of waterfalls, allocations, and carried interest mechanics.
- Client-facing communicator who can lead calls, negotiate timelines, and translate complexity into clear, actionable plans.
- Advanced Excel and proficiency with accounting/tax systems and workflow/ticketing tools; comfortable evaluating and implementing automation.
- People developer with a track record of coaching, structured feedback, and elevating the team’s quality bar.
- Calm under pressure; strong judgment and ownership on escalations and tight deadlines.
- Professional qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CTA) or equivalent experience are a plus; cross-border (US/UK) experience is valued.
