The Team You’ll Work With

You’ll join Carta Europe’s business development team, playing a critical role in expanding our partner ecosystem and deepening existing relationships, with a specific focus on financial and professional services firms within the private markets community. The BD function seeks to connect Carta with essential ecosystem players, facilitating increased engagement and referrals that drive business growth and strengthen market presence.

Our partners span law firms, banks, audit providers, industry associations, AIFMs, depositaries and other leaders in the private markets.In this role, you will be a central figure in building and managing impactful external partnerships, driving strategic referrals across the broader private markets ecosystem.

This role collaborates closely with internal teams—including sales, marketing, finance, and legal—to deliver value to partners and drive new business opportunities across our network.

The Problems You’ll Solve

  • Relationship Building: Proactively build, cultivate, and nurture high-value, lasting relationships with key professional services contacts and teams across our target partners.
  • Firm Coverage: Strategize and execute on increasing Carta’s influence and individual coverage within major firms, ensuring engagement with multiple influential individuals and teams across various seniority levels.
  • Referral Pipeline: Work directly with internal sales teams to develop, manage, and drive two-way referral opportunities.
  • Opportunity Analysis & Negotiation: Screen, analyse, and negotiate new, strategic partner opportunities for Carta, ensuring alignment with our business goals and driving favorable commercial outcomes.
  • Ecosystem Engagement: Represent Carta at industry events, meeting with current and prospective partners to deepen relationships and identify new collaboration avenues. Must be comfortable with international travel to support a pan-European strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the internal point of contact for partner relations, collaborating with product, marketing, and legal teams to ensure partner needs are met and value is delivered.
  • Data Integrity & Tracking: Action the accurate recording of partner engagement and activity data into CRM systems (like Salesforce), tracking the success of partnerships against clear business outcomes and referral metrics.

About You

  • ~7+ years of professional experience working in private markets.
  • Highly collaborative with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal teams (sales, marketing, legal, etc.) to achieve shared goals.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a great multi-tasker, comfortable juggling various projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adept with CRM systems (specifically Salesforce) for pipeline management, data tracking, and partner engagement logging.
  • Highly organized, structured, and detail-oriented; committed to efficiency and accuracy across all tasks.
  • Comfortable thriving in a high-growth, high-velocity culture  with high ownership, accountability, and shifting priorities.
  • A confident and enthusiastic communicator, able to serve as an engaging ambassador for Carta during external engagements and conferences.
  • An established network of contacts within the private equity or private credit community.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working as an investor, in investor relations, or as an advisor (e.g., accountant, legal professional) within private equity and/or private credit.
  • Experience using AI tools to automate workflows and enhance BD efficiency (e.g. n8n, Gemini etc).
