  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic accounts through regular in-person engagement, executive alignment, and tailored value delivery to drive adoption and long-term success.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on Carta’s value proposition, translating customer needs into actionable plans while proactively managing risk, sentiment, and churn.
  • Lead renewal and expansion strategies—navigating complex contract terms, pricing discussions, and service escalations to secure lasting partnerships.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to align on customer expectations, surface product feedback, and influence roadmaps that drive satisfaction and growth.
  • Craft and execute scalable engagement strategies using a mix of technology and high-touch outreach to strengthen relationships and improve retention.
  • Coach peers and contribute to continuous team and process improvement by solving complex challenges and sharing best practices across accounts.

The Team You'll Work With

We’re looking for an exceptional Strategic Account Manager to own and manage a portfolio of our enterprise customers. This includes maximizing the value customers receive from Carta products, building strong relationships across stakeholder levels—including at the executive level—and successfully managing customers through adoption, growth, and renewal phases.

As a Strategic Account Manager, you will play a critical business role at Carta. You will work with your customers to understand their business plans and build long-term strategic adoption roadmaps that enable their desired outcomes. You’ll drive revenue, reputation, and product direction by collaborating closely with our product, sales, services, and support teams—ultimately helping shape our customer strategy both at the account level and at scale.

About You

  • 7+ years of enterprise client-facing experience, ideally in venture capital or private equity with a strong ability to build lasting relationships at all organizational levels
  • Proven success in strategic account planning, managing complex portfolios, and driving adoption, retention, and growth
  • Strong communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and lead change management initiatives
  • Data-driven and highly organized, with a keen ability to evaluate account health and sentiment, resolve risks, and act on growth opportunities
  • A proactive team player who mentors others, leads cross-functional initiatives, and demonstrates deep command of the product and industry landscape
  • Willing and able to travel as needed (1–2x per week) and maintain a consistent in-person presence (3 days/week) for customer meetings and team collaboration

Please note: This role requires regular in-person interaction with customers and team members, including client site visits and onsite team collaboration. Strong expectation is placed on in-person presence of three days per week  to build trusted relationships and deliver best-in-class service.

Salary

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is: 

  • $200,000.00 OTE in New York, NY

We are hiring for multiple levels and locations, so final offers may vary from the amounts listed based on geography, experience and expertise, and other factors.
