The Team You'll Work With

The Director, Fund Administration - Europe leads delivery and client experience for Carta's European Fund Administration portfolio, primarily across the UK and Luxembourg. You will be accountable for service quality, timely delivery and client relationships, and you will support retention and expansion by partnering with Sales and client leadership.

You will directly lead the European fund accounting team, with responsibility for team performance, talent development, accounting quality and on-time delivery. The team builds processes and uses technology to deliver a strong client experience at scale.

The Problems You'll Solve

As Director, Fund Administration - Europe, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop the fund accounting team, setting clear expectations for accounting quality, timely delivery and client service.
  • Own accounting standards, review controls and the handling of complex accounting matters, so that financial reporting is accurate and clients are ready for their audits.
  • Improve execution across the Venture Capital and Private Equity delivery teams, including fund administration, data collection, implementation and support.
  • Plan team capacity and processes so the business can grow without a drop in accounting quality or client service.
  • Use technology and automation to cut manual work and unnecessary review cycles while strengthening controls.
  • Monitor client health, product usage and satisfaction feedback; identify risks early and act on them with the client and internal partners.
  • Build trusted relationships with fund finance and operations contacts, and escalate to senior leadership when needed.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering and R&D to represent the requirements of Fund Administration clients.
  • Work with Sales to identify expansion opportunities within your client portfolio.
  • Work across functional teams in line with the ONE Carta value, and build a culture of technical excellence, accountability and continuous learning on your team.

The Impact You'll Have

You will be accountable for operational performance and client satisfaction across your portfolio. Success will be measured on service quality, timeliness, operating efficiency, audit readiness and CSAT. You will also contribute to growth and client retention by working with Sales and partner delivery leaders.

The Fund Administration client team supports VC and PE firms, helping fund managers deliver accurate reporting, serve their investors and operate with confidence.

About You

We're looking for a client-focused fund accounting leader with solid experience in European Venture Capital, Private Equity and fund administration, sound judgment, and the ability to build trusted relationships with fund finance and operations teams.

  • 10-12+ years of experience in fund accounting or fund administration, including 3-5 years managing teams and client relationships.
  • Experience coaching and developing talent and setting clear standards for accounting quality, timely delivery and client service.
  • Working knowledge of UK and Luxembourg fund structures and administration; experience with Jersey and Guernsey structures is a plus.
  • Curiosity and good judgment: you understand each client's business, anticipate needs and raise risks early.
  • A track record of delivering results across functions and meeting delivery and client satisfaction targets; experience contributing to upsell or expansion is a plus.
  • Practical problem solving, especially when navigating uncertainty or ambiguity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and diplomacy under pressure, with the ability to build relationships inside and outside the company.
  • Clear communication that turns complex topics into simple, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Comfort working collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
