The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, we're transforming how private capital operates — connecting the software, services, and legal infrastructure that founders, fund managers, and legal teams depend on. We believe the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow. As a Procurement Operations Specialist, you’ll work to:

  • Keep purchase requests, approvals, and contract signatures moving, and follow up on anything that stalls
  • Keep contracts, purchase orders (POs), and system records in sync when scope, term, or value changes
  • Find the cause of supplier issues across contracts, POs, invoices, and payments, and secure the fix
  • Run straightforward purchases (software, consulting, marketing, events, hotels, office) from quote to signed agreement
  • Build, test, and maintain AI-enabled workflows that cut cycle time and manual work
  • Own process and system projects, including improvements to our procurement platform, Zip
  • Track cycle time, rework, and time saved, and use the results to choose the next improvement
  • Support procurement managers across the team

The Team You'll Work With

Carta's Procurement Team helps the company buy what it needs quickly, safely, and on good terms. The Procurement Operations Specialist keeps requests, approvals, and signatures moving, handles straightforward purchases from start to finish, and builds AI-enabled workflows that make the whole team faster. You will report to the Head of Procurement. The successful candidate for this position will be highly motivated, prepared to adapt to a fast paced environment, has excellent organization & communication skills and has an understanding of sourcing and procurement concepts.

About You

We're looking for someone who keeps work moving and wants to grow in procurement. If you follow through, enjoy fixing processes, and are curious about AI, this role could be a great fit.

What You’ll Need:

  • At least 3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management (technology/software or marketing sourcing is a plus)
  • Working knowledge of procure-to-pay: how agreements, approvals, POs, invoices, and payments connect
  • Experience investigating a discrepancy and getting it resolved with Accounts Payable
  • Hands-on experience improving a workflow with AI tools or automation, with an example of what you built and what improved
  • Working knowledge of contract negotiation and sourcing, enough to handle lower-risk purchases
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to keep many tasks moving at once
  • A service mindset: responsive, clear communication, and good judgment with incomplete information or urgent requests
  • Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and procurement or finance systems

Preferred (but Not Required):

  • A bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience in financial services (fintech, banking, broker-dealer, etc.)
  • Experience administering a procurement platform such as Zip
  • Experience with no-code or low-code automation tools
  • Experience training employees on procurement systems and processes
  • Exposure to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity
