Senior Production Technician - Mechanisms

As a Production Technician - Mechanisms, you will play a key role in executing high-rate assembly builds for CAS and TVCA components supporting Castelion's flight and production activities in 2026. You will help standardize production processes, build out the production area, and implement the tools, fixtures, and mechanisms needed to efficiently produce assemblies at high volume. This hands-on role is critical to ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of numerous vehicles throughout the year.

 

Responsibilities

Execute complex aerospace mechanism builds in support of Castelion's flight and high-rate production objectives.

Perform repeatable, high-quality assembly operations while meeting production rate, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.

Help transition mechanism build processes into standardized, production-ready work instructions and processes for high-volume output.

Assist with developing and implementing tooling, fixtures, workstations, and infrastructure necessary to execute efficient production builds.

Run functional testing of flight mechanisms and accurately document results in accordance with controlled procedures.

Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, first-pass yield, line balance, and overall production efficiency.

Ensure shop equipment is well-maintained and calibrated where necessary, and maintain an organized, safe production area.

 

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing/production environment

Familiarity with torque and mechanical tools (gauges and indicators).

Ability to use computer systems to support process transactions and quality management processes.

Ability to interpret drawings and specifications; complete travelers; and use visual aids and procedures as products are built.

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Ability to walk throughout the facility and on uneven terrain.

Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and arms.

Preferred Skills and Experience

5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, with a focus on electromechanical mechanisms or complex mechanical assemblies.

Associate degree.

A&P License.

Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings, controlled documentation, and processes such as layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures and work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists.

Experience with MES software and electronic production records.

Experience working in a high-rate or high-volume production environment with measurable output, takt time, and throughput goals.

Experience with production tooling, fixtures, work instructions, line balancing, or standardized work.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Experience with AS9100 or equivalent quality management systems.

Experience with 5S practices.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
