Position Overview:
The Install Technician is a hands-on technical role responsible for preparing, installing, and maintaining Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs) in gaming establishments nationwide. This position involves troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading machines while ensuring compliance with jurisdictional regulations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver with technical expertise and a willingness to travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain gaming machines, servers, and associated equipment.
• Deliver, unload, and set up machines and components at casino locations.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including cleaning, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Upgrade software and hardware during machine conversions and installations.
• Log maintenance and repair activities in approved reporting systems.
• Stay up to date on industry regulations, jurisdictional changes, and software updates and report relevant information to appropriate departments.
Work Environment:
• Exposure to varying noise levels, from quiet to loud, as well as bright, flashing lights.
• Exposure to secondhand smoke in casino environments.
• Occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions when transporting equipment.
• Frequent movement around customers and casino patrons while performing job duties.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Ability to safely clean, maintain, and troubleshoot gaming equipment.
• Basic technical/electronic skills with an ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet company and customer needs.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and overtime as needed.
• Must pass a DOT physical (required for travel).
• Ability to move and transport gaming machines/equipment weighing up to 550 pounds using appropriate tools.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds short distances without mechanical aids.
• Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required tribal gaming licenses.
Preferred:
• Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• 2+ years of technical or electrical experience in installation, repair, or maintenance.
• Relevant technical certifications (A+, N+, Microsoft, Cisco) are highly desirable.
• Previous experience in a gaming or Bingo service environment is a plus.
• Experience with Class II, Class III and/or HHR Gaming preferred.
