Sr. Gameplay Engineer

What We Need:

Cat Daddy is seeking a Senior Gameplay Engineer to join our studio in Kirkland, WA for a full-time, in-office role. As a member of the gameplay development team you will design, develop, write, implement, and debug code for our current and new mobile titles. If you are passionate about gaming and have a strong foundation in gameplay programming, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with a team of game developers to design, prototype, and implement new gameplay features.

  • Debug and fix gameplay issues, addressing technical challenges in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with the team to plan and estimate development tasks, ensuring delivery of milestones and project goals.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior gameplay programmers.

Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of programming experience, including video game development. Experience in mobile game development is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of gameplay systems and mechanics.

  • Strong proficiency in C++ is required.

  • Experience implementing gameplay systems, user interface, and/or AI behaviors.

  • Unreal Engine experience preferred

  • Prior experience iOS or Android programming is a big plus!

The pay range for this position in Washington at the start of employment is expected to be between $108,900 and $161,160 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. Regular, full-time employees are also eligible for a range of benefits at the Company, including: medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage; 14 paid holidays per calendar year; paid vacation time per calendar year (ranging from 15 to 25 days) or eligibility to participate in the Company’s discretionary time off program; up to 10 paid sick days per calendar year; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs for mental health and other wellness support; family planning support through Maven; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness-related expenses.
