Maternity Navigator (Licensed Doula)
About Us:
The United States has the poorest maternal and birth outcomes of all developed countries with the Black, Brown, Indigenous, and underserved communities disproportionately affected by these results. Cayaba Care is working to drastically change the experience of affected communities by reimagining how we deliver meaningful and compassionate care to expectant moms.
Cayaba Care’s mission is to improve pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey for women and their families by reimagining how maternity care is delivered. Our team is focused on building trust-based engagement and wrap-around support of expectant moms at home, in person and virtually to ensure they have all the social support they need for a successful and joyful pregnancy journey.
We ensure that our members do not feel alone during their pregnancy journey, and that they have a trusted resource for support, resources, and information throughout their pregnancy, delivery and well into postpartum. Our Maternity Navigators are the anchor of our work; they are hired from the communities we serve, they understand expectant moms and they build deep and meaningful connections to support our members. We leverage technology to support or virtual engagement that allows us to meet all our moms where they are.
Cayaba Care does not replace the primary obstetrician or doctor’s relationships; instead, we support expectant mothers with all other support services that are traditionally not available through their doctors’ offices. Our Maternity Navigators are trained in maternal community health work including women’s health, prenatal education, and the community-based resources needed to advocate and support our enrolled members.
Maternity Navigators work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals including Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Lactation Consultants, Registered Nutritionists, Family Support Specialists, and Social Workers to help pregnant and postpartum families in a holistic manner.
Our Values:
- Healthcare is Human: We partner with the communities we serve to address the unique needs of our patients and support whole person care.
- Pursue Excellence: We earn & build trust with our patients, partners, & each other by striving for excellence without compromising our standards.
- Uplift: We elevate and center underrepresented voices.
- Embrace Innovation: We are creative & resourceful in getting things done.
- Together, not alone: Moving maternal healthcare forward is a shared responsibility that we all care deeply about.
