The Mission
Caylent is looking to hire a Director in the Cloud Architecture and Engineering practice. As a CAE Director at Caylent you will lead and oversee practice initiatives, driving technical excellence and innovation. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise to deliver cloud-native solutions.
Your Assignment
Technical Leadership
Lead complex cloud transformation initiatives and architectural decisions
Provide technical oversight and guidance to multiple project teams
Establish and maintain technical standards and best practices
Drive cloud-native solution design and implementation strategies
Client Engagement
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise clients
Lead technical discovery and solution design sessions
Present complex technical solutions to C-level stakeholders
Ensure delivery excellence and client satisfaction
Business Development
Contribute to pre-sales activities and solution development
Participate in technical proposals and client presentations
Help identify new business opportunities within existing accounts
Support go-to-market strategies for new service offerings
Team Management
Build and mentor high-performing teams of engineering managers,principal architects, cloud architects and engineers
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning
Manage resource allocation across multiple client engagements
Provide career development guidance to team members
Your Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering
- 5+ years of leadership experience in a technical role
- Deep expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP (multiple cloud platforms preferred)
- Strong background in cloud-native technologies and DevOps practices
- Advanced certifications in major cloud platforms
- Experience with enterprise digital transformation initiatives
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong project and people management capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS)
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Understanding of security and compliance requirements
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Background in agile methodologies
- Industry-recognized certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, etc.)

Base Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this position is CAD 207,000 - CAD 240,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Additional Compensation Components: In addition to the base salary, the compensation package may include bonuses, commissions, equity, and other incentives. The specific components will vary depending on the role and individual and/or company performance.
