The Mission

We are seeking a talented Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. The right candidate is someone who excels at creating, managing, and improving spreadsheets. We’re looking for someone who not only powers through challenges but also makes it a point to always improve everything they do by at least 1%. Someone who is organized in habits, thoughts, and words, who can take a complex problem and break it down into simple parts will be successful here at Caylent. Your mission will be to work alongside the FP&A and Service Delivery team to ensure Caylent follows GAAP and ASC 606 guidance for revenue recognition. You’ll provide assistance during month-end to close revenue within the required time, while also providing leadership with trend analysis to aid decision making. 

Your Assignment

  • The Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for the timely and accurate closing of revenue. This role requires a deep understanding of US revenue recognition principles and related tax regulations - you will be responsible for providing compliance analysis and guidance on revenue treatment for all products and services, current and future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technological Excellence: Proactively identifying opportunities to automate accounting processes and leverage technology to improve efficiency
  • Technical Excellence: Condensing down the accounting close calendar for more timely reporting, while maintaining excellent accuracy and adhering to GAAP
  • Cross-Department Partnership: Strengthen our collaboration with the other departments to ensure Caylent’s contracts are ASC 606 compliant
  • Department Growth: Stay current with industry trends, accounting standards and regulations to enhance team members’ skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role, in a high-tech organization, with at least 3 years in a revenue specific role from a Big 4
  • Proven experience in researching all things GAAP, with a focus on ASC 606
  • Strong ERP background with high preference on Salesforce, Certinia and FloQast
  • Advanced excel/googlesheets skills (lookups/index-match, sums, nested ifs/switch, queries) with the ability to manipulate and interpret large sets of data
  • Ability to catch abnormalities in variances and potential future trends
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with enterprise clients across various industries.
  • Familiarity with sales tax compliance within multiple states.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance or accounting 
  • CPA certification
  • Experience working in a client-facing environment and professional services organization
  • Experience working in large teams and cross-departments

Base Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this position is $87,000 - $109,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Compensation Components: In addition to the base salary, the compensation package may include bonuses, commissions, equity, and other incentives. The specific components will vary depending on the role and individual and/or company performance.
