Subrogation Specialist
Cottingham & Butler Claims Services is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Subrogation Specialist to join our team. This is your chance to make a real impact—recovering funds, resolving liability, and helping our clients. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in insurance claims and a passion for investigation and negotiation. What You’ll Do:
- Review claim files to identify and evaluate subrogation opportunities.
- Investigate liability, gather evidence, and build strong recovery cases.
- Initiate and manage subrogation claims against third parties or their insurers.
- Negotiate settlements and repayment agreements.
- Collaborate with internal claims teams and legal counsel.
- Track and report on recovery performance and metrics.
What You Bring:
- 2+ years of experience in subrogation, insurance claims, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, legal liability, and recovery processes.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with auto, property, or workers’ compensation subrogation.
- Familiarity with state-specific subrogation laws.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CSRP, AIC).
