SAP Proposal-to-Reward (P2R) Consultant
Our client is leading the technical upgrade of their critical Financial and Procurement systems for a major branch of the Department of Defense (DoD), transitioning from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. The project focuses on a fit-to-standard approach, minimizing customizations and aligning with S/4HANA’s standard configuration. Key efforts include defining requirements for the upgrade and supporting business process re-engineering.
We are seeking an experienced SAP Proposal-to-Reward (P2R) Consultant to lead the transformation of end-to-end Grants Management processes in an SAP S/4HANA environment. The P2R process supports identifying and prioritizing needs, managing grantor programs, reviewing and awarding grant applications, executing grant activities, and performing ongoing management and administration.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and facilitating working sessions, including requirements gathering, capability discussions, and stakeholder workshops. Limited travel to Rosslyn, VA may be required.
- Applying human-centered design principles to improve data collection processes and process flow visualization.
- Leading client meetings with strong executive presence while tracking project timelines, deliverables, and risks.
- Conducting fit-gap analyses and designing optimized to-be process models aligned with standard SAP Grants Management functionality.
- Supporting integration with related processes including Budget-to-Report (B2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and Hire-to-Retire (H2R).
- Collaborating with Organizational Change Management (OCM), Data, and Governance teams to ensure stakeholder alignment and documentation of key design decisions.
- Developing and maintaining user documentation, functional specifications, test cases, and training materials to support Agile delivery.
- Participating in Agile ceremonies and driving solution validation through iterative demonstrations and UAT preparation.
- Exhibiting familiarity with components of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and integration with other SAP modules.
Requirements:
- Secret security clearance
- 5+ years of SAP functional experience in Grants Management, Supplier Relationship Management, or related public sector processes.
- Strong understanding of the Proposal-to-Reward lifecycle, including needs identification, grant program management, application review and award, execution, and administration.
- Hands on experience with S/4HANA Grants Management solution design and configuration.
- Experience supporting business process transformation efforts within federal or government-regulated environments.
- Proven experience facilitating workshops, documenting requirements, and engaging stakeholders across all levels.
- Federal or DoD program experience preferred, with knowledge of compliance and policy requirements.
