SEI’s Climate Corps Fellowship program offers emerging professionals the opportunity to lead meaningful projects that address climate change and build community resilience all while gaining paid, hands-on experience and professional development. This full-time, bridge-to-career opportunity pairs emerging leaders with host organizations that range from local governments and nonprofits to for-profit businesses, where fellows lead impactful projects that drive real-world change.
The Impact You’ll Make
The Climate Corps program offers diverse Fellowship opportunities across various fields, including energy, education, building performance, strategic energy management, sustainability consulting, project management, marketing and communications, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), and transportation. These 10-month fellowship opportunities provide hands-on experience and the chance to make a meaningful impact in the sustainability field.
Our Fellowship opportunities are available in California, Washington, and across the United States. Depending on the role, positions may be hybrid, onsite, or remote. We offer four cohort cycles per year, and we are currently hiring for the next cycle beginning on June 2, 2025.
Qualifications
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
- Coursework or related experience in environmental fields (e.g., internships, volunteer work) is preferred.
- A demonstrated commitment to addressing racism and advancing racial equity, both within team dynamics and programmatically.
- Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (SEI is unable to sponsor visas).
- May require occasional moving about to accomplish tasks, moving from one worksite to another, or adjusting or moving objects under 25-50 pounds in all directions.

- A monthly living wage stipend, starting at $3150/month
- $1,000 end-of-program financial award

This acclaimed UC California Naturalist Program prepares UC Climate Stewards to engage in and lead local solutions to advance community and ecosystem resilience.
