Are you passionate about energy efficiency solutions? As a State of California Energy Strategy and Support (SOC ESS) Climate Corps Fellow, in the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful climate resiliency & sustainability initiatives with AESC. This is a remote position anywhere in the US.
The Fellow will support their assigned State of California agency and the Program team by helping the agency advance energy projects from initial planning and final implementation, leading to an increase in new projects per agency.
This position offers a unique opportunity to develop your professional skills, grow your network, and contribute to AESC’s sustainability goals.
About Our Partner: AESC
AESC implements energy efficiency programs on behalf of California utilities and collaborates with state agencies to advance sustainability and resilience in public buildings. There are two Fellowship positions available: one for the California Department of General Services (DGS) and one for the Judicial Council of California (JCC).
What You’ll Do
- Review materials and identify corrections and process improvements.
- Coordinate with multiple parties, including agencies, contractors, and programs, to identify, scope, and track projects.
- Manage the logistics of virtual meetings, workshops, and training.
- Attend meetings and create meeting notes.
- Track deliverables, milestones, and communicate status and actions to team members.
- Participate in events/workshops, organize tasks/deliverables, and contribute to strategic marketing and outreach efforts.
- Provide programs and agencies with logistics such as coordinating kick-off meetings and site assessments.
- Support the agency in the creation of the annual Sustainability Plan.
What We’re Looking For
- Project management experience.
- Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.
- A college degree, coursework, or related experience in environmental fields is preferred.
- Commitment to a fair workplace that honors the experiences, voices, viewpoints, and values of all individuals.
- Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (SEI is unable to sponsor visas).
- May require occasional moving about to accomplish tasks, moving from one worksite to another, or adjusting or moving objects under 25-50 pounds in all directions.
