Software Developer III
We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Software Developer III in the Application Services Department.
ABOUT THIS POSITION
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer to join our team! In this role, you will focus on building and maintaining applications to extract, transform, and load data between our claims, care management, and reporting systems. A key responsibility will be the development and maintenance of applications for processing HIPAA X12 EDI file formats using .NET technologies.
Additionally, this position involves managing and enhancing automated jobs created with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), as well as developing new SSIS packages to address evolving business and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Reporting to the Application Development Manager, this position:
- Creates, tests, implements and maintains enterprise software systems and databases to support the business needs of the Alliance
- Conducts estimation and sprint planning for software projects as part of the Agile development cycle at the Alliance
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Experience developing efficient and secure data integration solutions in the healthcare domain
- Experience working with X12 HIPAA EDI File Formats (837,834,835,274, etc.)
- Experience working with JSON file formats
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Experience with the Snowflake cloud database platform
- Experience working with frontend web development technologies
- Experience in developing and integrating web services, including RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 or later

- Knowledge of:
- Microsoft SQL Server Database
- SQL queries and relational database concepts
- TSQL stored procedures, functions and triggers
- C#
- XML technologies, including XPath and XSLT
- Ability to:
- Learn and adapt vendor-supplied software tools
- Gather and analyze complex data and information, troubleshoot issues, and develop practical and effective solutions
- Understand and document business users' requirements
- Effectively communicate with vendors and software support staff regarding systems-specific issues
- Provide technical guidance to other programming and systems staff
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in management information systems, Computer Science or a related field
- A minimum of five years of software development experience, from specification stage through implementation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying
OTHER INFORMATION
- We are in a hybrid work environment and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
- While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).
Typical areas in Zone 1: Bay Area, Sacramento, Los Angeles area, San Diego area
Typical areas in Zone 2: Fresno area, Bakersfield, Central Valley (with the exception of Sacramento), Eastern California, Eureka area
Zone 1 (Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz)
$108,078 - $172,931 USD
Zone 2 (Mariposa and Merced)
$98,351 - $157,373 USD
