Temporary Health Educator - Bilingual
ABOUT THIS TEMP POSITION
We currently have an opening for a Temporary Health Educator on the Quality and Health Program team. The Quality and Health Programs department helps keep members healthy outside of the doctor's office through member support in prevention and disease management.
This is a temporary position and the length of assignment is estimated to go for 3-6 months with a start date of early to mid August. The length of the assignment is always dependent on business need and dates may change. While the assignment would be at the Alliance, if selected, you would be an employee of a temporary employment agency that we would connect you with. This position requires in office and community presence in Merced County as a hybrid role.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Reporting to the Quality and Health Program Supervisor, this position:
- Conducts telephonic and in-person outreach and education to members identified as eligible for the Alliance’s Quality and Health Program activities
- Conducts telephonic, virtual, and in-person workshops for members identified as eligible for the Alliance’s Quality and Health Programs
- Plans, organizes, and implements Quality and Health Program interventions and outreach activities in coordination with other Alliance staff and community-based organizations
- Represents the Alliance in community coalitions and initiatives
- Provides subject matter expertise and support related to translations and linguistic needs
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Knowledge of:
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
- The principles and practices of delivering evidence-based and evidence-informed curricula with community members
- The principles and practices of health education and health promotion, including program planning, design, and evaluation
- Group dynamics and the theories and techniques of teaching and learning for youths and adults
- Ability to:
- Present health information programs to members, the community and community organizations
- Present information about Alliance health programs and workshops in a positive and engaging manner
- Develop, promote and implement a variety of health education information, outreach and health education programs and materials
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education or a related field and education a minimum of three years of experience in health education, which included some experience conducting health education and/or disease management workshops in the community (a Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying)
OTHER INFORMATION
- We are in a hybrid work environment, and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
- While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
- In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.

The full compensation range for this position is listed by location below.
The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).
Merced County Pay Range
$31.90 - $41.46 USD
