Senior Analyst, Private Market Portfolio Operations

Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in-office and remote working days throughout the week.

What You Will Do
  • Partner with Investment, Finance, Legal, and external parties to support private market investment closings.
  • Review investment documentation and ensure accurate system setup, transaction entry, and settlement across internal platforms (including APX) and supporting tools.
  • Ensure investment terms, cash flows, and structures are correctly reflected in operational systems.
  • Maintain accurate records for private market investments, including commitments, capital calls, distributions, redemptions, and transfers.
  • Track upcoming activity and key lifecycle events to ensure timely processing and reporting.
  • Reconcile internal records against custodian reports, fund statements, and other third‑party data sources.
  • Process capital calls and distributions in coordination with Investment teams, Finance, IRG, and custodians.
  • Ensure transactions are correctly recorded and aligned with NAV‑driven processes, reporting requirements, and client communications.
  • Assist in translating investment activity into system‑viable execution while understanding downstream impacts to trading, reporting, and performance.
  • Support the quarterly valuation review process for private market investments.
  • Ensure valuation updates and adjustments are accurately recorded.
  • Identify and escalate valuation discrepancies, data gaps, or inconsistencies, and provide analytical support to management and stakeholders.
  • Perform daily and periodic validations and reconciliations related to positions, deal pipelines, cash flows, and sub‑ledgers.
  • Assist in maintaining strong financial controls over books and records related to private market investments.
  • Identify irregular activities, breaks, or operational risks and escalate issues promptly, supporting corrective actions as required.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining operational policies and procedures.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve workflows, streamline processes, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Support ongoing initiatives related to system enhancements, automation, and data quality improvements.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal teams (Investments, Finance, Legal, IRG, Reporting) and external asset managers and service providers.
  • Ensure operational issues are clearly communicated, discussed, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support reporting, audit, and information requests as needed.
What You Bring
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Completion of the Canadian Securities Course is an asset.  Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.  Developed knowledge of investment accounts (RRSP, TFSA, RRIF, etc.).
  • Able to continually ensure high quality output along with identifying areas for investigation.
  • Proven ability to think logically and problem solve effectively.  Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure, dealing with changes and interruptions while maintaining strict deadlines.
  • The desire to learn processes and improve on operational efficiencies.
  • You have a collaborative spirit that helps you work well with others and you communicate effectively.
  • At least 2-5 years of related work experience, in an investment firm, bank or trust company is an asset.
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000.  The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation for this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
