Senior Business Process Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Business Process Engineer for an existing vacancy in our Investment Analytics Engineering (IA Engineering) team. In this role, you will play a critical role in the digital transformation of our business by improving the quality of our processes and, ultimately, our analytics across the company. The ideal candidate is a senior individual contributor accountable for leading end‑to‑end business process discovery, design, optimization, and solution implementation. Acting as a process design expert, you will ensure processes are clearly defined, scalable, automated, and reduce process risk.  The IA Engineering team manages a variety of investment analytics functions, including developing and maintaining analytics processes. The team acts as a steward of the financial group’s “analytics platform,” supports the delivery of post-trade analytics to stakeholders, and supports investment teams in developing custom analytics as needed. What You’ll Be Doing 
  • Execute the analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation of analytics process improvements. 
  • Ensure processes follow design best practices, are scalable, and are automated. Proactively identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual effort, address common points of failure, and strengthen controls. 
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and escalate process risks. Implement appropriate controls.  
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and technology teams. Understand current-state and design future-state processes. Lead change management; ensure downstream users understand the purpose of and adopt new processes.  
  • Act as a process design expert and escalation point for process questions. Facilitate stakeholder alignment, provide clear options, and recommend solutions. 
  • Produce clear process design documents and visuals (e.g. current/future-state maps, RACI matrices, supporting process documentation, best practices, etc.). 
What You Bring 
  • You have a degree in business, information systems, or a related quantitative/analytical field. Formal training in process design and improvement methodologies. Completion of a financial designation, such as the CFA or FRM, is an asset.  
  • A minimum of five years in a business process design/transformation/engineering role. Experience in asset management, financial services or a similarly complex environment is an asset. 
  • You have deep knowledge in the field, are a system thinker, and take ownership of your work. You have a proven track record of leading and delivering process improvement initiatives from end to end on time.  You are proficient in process modeling tools, such as Engage Process Modeler. 
  • You have a passion for technology and are committed to continuous learning. You support the integration of emerging technologies in processes as appropriate. You bring the “art of the possible” to the solution design process.  
  • You have practical experience with modern systems used in data pipelines and analytics. You understand what role different software plays in a process and where it is best to make certain manipulations. You bring knowledge of AI tools, workflow automation platforms (e.g. Power Automate, Prefect), data platforms (e.g. Microsoft Fabric), and data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI). Programming experience (Python, sql) is an asset.  
  • You bring excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. You can detect patterns and extract insights. 
  • You can communicate complex concepts clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels. You have a collaborative spirit, can navigate different perspectives, and promote alignment towards common organizational goals. 
  • You can identify, assess, mitigate, and proactively escalate process risks. You understand the cost implications of different compute options. 
  • You can use judgement to make sound decisions in a timely fashion under ambiguity. You can work independently and proactively propose solutions.   
The salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation for this position.
