When you join the Institutional Portfolio Operations (IPO) team as a Analyst, you are joining a group of tightknit, energetic, and social individuals, who together have a direct impact on the investment success of individuals, pension funds, foundations and endowments, First Nations and other institutional clients.

The Analyst on the Institutional Portfolio Operations team is a critical part of our firm and clients’ success and is a challenging and rewarding role for the right individual. You will experience the inter-workings of the asset management world and will have the opportunity to advance your skills for future growth and development within Connor, Clark & Lunn (CC&L).


 
What You Will Do

The Analyst, Institutional Portfolio Operations serves as the key provider of accurate investment portfolio data to the entire CC&L family and their clients. In this role, you will:
 
  • Institutional Billing: Prepare and issue management fee invoices for institutional clients, funds, and affiliated entities on both a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Assets Under Management (AUM) Reporting: Administrator the AUM reporting process by producing monthly and quarterly reports and supporting data requests from Investment Teams, Sales, RFP, and Senior Management.
  • Operational Projects: Contribute to initiatives focused on automation, process efficiency, and enhancing the scalability of IPO’s service offerings.
  • Information Management: Communicate critical portfolio details and manage the secure flow of sensitive information across all CC&L affiliates.
 
What You Will Bring
  • Investment Knowledge: You have an undergraduate degree in business administration, commerce or a related field and a genuine interest in the investment industry.
  • Industry knowledge: A minimum of 2 years of experience in an institutional investment firm, bank or trust company, where you have acquired operational expertise. Fund accounting experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Collaborative Communication: You can articulate yourself clearly through both verbal and written mediums and work well with others to resolve complex issues.
  • Inquisitive Mind: You have the ability to think rationally, and problem solve effectively.
  • Team Player: You are committed to contributing and supporting a team of like-minded individuals who are driven and have high standards. Everyone you have worked with has wonderful things to say about you.
  • Positive Attitude: You are a sharp, self-motivated, ambitious, and enthusiastic person who will seek to improve existing processes and help to implement creative solutions. You are a “go-getter.”
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with financial software platforms, particularly those used for portfolio accounting and client invoicing, with additional experience in Excel VBA, Power BI, and Smartsheet. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Adobe applications.
